    In a tragic accident on Wednesday morning, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar was killed when the chartered aircraft he was traveling in crash-landed near Baramati in Pune district.

    According to officials and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Learjet 45 (registration VT-SSK) carrying Pawar and four others — including two crew members and his security personnel — crashed during an attempted landing around 8:45 a.m. local time. No survivors were found at the scene.

    Eyewitness visuals from the site showed wreckage engulfed in flames and thick smoke rising across the crash area. Emergency teams and local authorities rushed to the scene, but all aboard were declared dead.

    Details of the Incident

    Pawar was en route from Mumbai to Baramati to attend public events linked to the Zilla Parishad elections.

    The aircraft reportedly encountered difficulties as it approached the runway and crash-landed off-centre, according to preliminary reports.

    The DGCA has initiated a formal investigation into the cause of the crash.

    News of Pawar’s death has sent shockwaves through Indian politics. Leaders from across the spectrum expressed grief and offered condolences:

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the loss as deeply saddening, remembering Pawar as a “leader of the people” with strong grassroots connections. “

    Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior ministers are reported to have contacted Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis following the crash.

    NCP leaders and Pawar’s family members, including his wife and sister, rushed to Baramati.

    Ajit Pawar, 66, was a seasoned politician and a central figure in Maharashtra’s political landscape for decades. He served as Deputy Chief Minister under multiple governments and played a key role in the 2023 split of the Nationalist Congress Party, after which he maintained leadership of his faction.

    Shoolini University’s Belletristic Shoolini Literature Society recently hosted a session on the topic of “Folk Dances of Maharashtra and its Politics of Performance.” The event aimed to shed light on the cultural heritage of Maharashtra and the social dynamics intertwined with its traditional dances.

     

    The key speaker for the session was Ms. Sejal Madhavi Yadav, shared her views in-depth on the historical, cultural, and political aspects of various folk dances of Maharashtra. Ms. Yadav’s presentation provided valuable insights into the significance of these art forms and their relationship with the socio-political landscape of the region.

     

    Prof. Dhar from Shoolini University shared his profound observations and remarks on the subject matter, enriching the conversation further. Dr. Purnima Bali, Head School of Chitrakoot and Liberal Arts in her closing remarks expressed the importance of maintaining a delicate balance between preserving the authenticity of pure folk dance forms and their adaptation in the realm of film studies.

    SJVN & MAHAGENCO enters into an MoU to develop 5000 MW Renewable Energy Projects in Maharashtra

    Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN informed that the company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MAHAGENCO) for development of 5000 MW Renewable Energy Projects in the state of Maharashtra.

     

    The MoU was signed in the august presence of Deputy CM & Power Minister of Maharashtra, Sh. Devendra Fadnavis and Principal Secretary Energy, Govt. of Maharashtra Smt. Abha Shukla. The MoU was signed by Smt. Geeta Kapur, Director (Personnel), SJVN & Sh. P. Anablagan CMD, MAHAGENCO.  .

    Nand Lal Sharma informed that the MoU has been signed to explore the feasibility of setting up various renewable projects in Maharashtra, which includes Hydro, Pumped Storage, Wind, Solar, Hybrid and Green Hydrogen Projects. Sh. Sharma further informed that SJVN & MAHAGENCO will jointly participate in tenders floated by Government of Maharashtra for renovation and modernization of small Hydro Power stations which are operated and maintained by MAHAGENCO.

     

     

    With signing of this MoU, now SJVN has a project portfolio of 54065 MW, with 2091.5 MW under operation, while rest is in various stages of development and is marching ahead to achieve its Shared Vision of 5000 MW by 2023-24, 25,000 MW by 2030 & 50,000 MW capacity by 2040.

    Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN informed that SJVN has received Letter of Award for setting up 200 MW Solar Power Project from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). SJVN is developing this project through its wholly owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL).

     

    Sh. Nand Lal Sharma apprised that this 200 MW ground mounted solar project will be developed in the state of Maharashtra on Engineering Procurement & Construction basis. SGEL has bagged the full quoted capacity of 200 MW @ Rs. 2.90/- per unit through competitive bidding process (Phase-IX) in e-Reverse Auction organized by MSEDCL.

     

    Sh. Nand Lal Sharma further stated that the tentative cost of developing this project will be Rs. 1000 crores. The project shall be constructed in a period of 18 months which shall be reckoned from the date of signing of PPA with MSEDCL. The project is expected to generate 455 million units in the first year and cumulative energy generation over a period of twenty five years would be about 10481 million units. Commissioning of the project is expected to reduce 5,13,560 tonnes of carbon emission.

     

    SJVN, a leading power sector CPSE has a total project portfolio of 46,879 MW. Company is on rapid progression to achieve its Shared Vision of being 5000 MW by 2023-24, 25000 MW by 2030 & 50000 MW Company by 2040. This shared vision has been formulated in sync with the commitment of the Government of India of generating 50% energy from non-fossil fuel-based energy resources by 2030.

    महाराष्ट्र के नासिक के एक अस्पताल में ऑक्सीजन टैंक लीक होने से 22 मरीजों की मौत हो गई। जानकारी के मुताबिक, नासिक के जाकिर हुसैन अस्पताल में वॉल्व खुला रहने की वजह से ऑक्सीजन लीक हो गई थी। लीकेज बंद करने के लिए अस्पताल में सप्लाई रोक दी गई। उस वक्त अस्पताल में 23 मरीज वेंटिलेटर पर थे, जिन्हें ऑक्सीजन मिलनी बंद हो गई। इनमें 22 मरीजों ने दम तोड़ दिया।

    बता दें कि उद्धव ठाकरे सरकार ने इस हादसे की जांच कराने का आदेश दिया। साथ ही, मृतकों के परिजनों को पांच-पांच लाख रुपये देने का एलान किया। महाराष्ट्र के स्वास्थ्य मंत्री राजेश टोपे ने बताया कि टैंकर के वॉल्व में दिक्कत होने के कारण काफी ऑक्सीजन लीक होने लगी थी। उन्होंने इस हादसे को दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण बताया। नासिक के निगम कमिश्नर ने हादसे की जानकारी दी। साथ ही, बताया कि अब स्थिति नियंत्रण में है।

    महाराष्ट्र में आज 165 और मामलों की पुष्टि हो गई है। इनमें से 107 मामले मुंबई में सामने आए हैं। राज्य में मरीजों की संख्या 3081 हो गई है। राज्य स्वास्थय विभाग ने इसकी जानकारी दी है।

    स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय के द्वारा जारी आंकड़ो के अनुसार भारत में अब तक कोरोना वायरस (COVID-19) के 12,380 मामले सामने आ गए हैं। इनमें से 1489 लोग ठीक हो गए हैं और 414 लोगों की मौत हो गई है। वहीं 10,477 मरीजों का इलाज चल रहा है।
