    After THE, QS, Shoolini aces US News and World report

    After topping the list of the two prestigious world ranking organizations – Times Higher Education and Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) – Shoolini University has emerged as the top young private university in the rankings announced by US News and World Report.
    The University has been ranked 769th globally with a remarkable score of 47.2 in the 2024-2025 Best Global Universities Rankings by U.S. News and World Report. Within India, Shoolini University stands out at 12th rank among all Indian universities and institutions like the IITs.
    140 institutions from India were ranked, with IISC Bangalore leading at number 612 with a score of 51.2, followed by IIT Bombay at rank 635 with a score of 50.3.
    Founder and Chancellor Prof PK Khosla said, “This recognition underscores our commitment to academic excellence and research impact on a global scale”.
    Congratulating the researchers, faculty and students, Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla said that the recognition from the leading global rankings organisations was a testimony of the emphasis laid on research and academics in the university” and added that the university would continue to accord high priority to research and innovation”.
    The 2024-2025 rankings include 2,250 top institutions from 104 countries, up from 2,000 institutions from 95 countries in the previous year. U.S. News and World Report created a pool of 2,271 universities to determine these rankings. This pool included the top universities from Clarivate’s global reputation survey and any institutions that published at least 1,250 papers from 2018 to 2022. These criteria produced the final ranking pool from which the top 2,250 universities were selected.
    Vellore Institute of Technology, a private deemed to be a university, established 40 years ago in 1984, has been placed at the overall rank of sixth in the country.

    यूनिवर्सिटी और कॉलेजों में राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति लागू नहीं होगी

    प्रदेश में स्नातक डिग्री कोर्स करवा रहे एचपीयू और एसपीयू से संबद्ध कॉलेजों में इस सत्र से राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति-2020 लागू करने की संभावना अब न के बराबर है। शिक्षा विभाग ने दोनों विश्वविद्यालयों से एडमिशन और एकेडमिक शेड्यूल के आए प्रस्तावों को आधार बनाकर कॉलेजों में प्रवेश शेड्यूल तय कर दिया है, लेकिन अभी तक नई शिक्षा नीति को लेकर कोई तैयारी नहीं है। एचपीयू शिमला और एसपीयू मंडी से संबद्ध करीब 200 कॉलेजों को शिक्षा विभाग और विश्वविद्यालयों से राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति को नए सत्र से लागू करने, उसके अनुरूप प्रवेश की प्रक्रिया संचालित करने को अब तक कोई आदेश नहीं मिले हैं। ऐसे में सभी कॉलेजों ने बीते सत्र की तर्ज पर पुराने यूजी प्रथम वर्ष के सिलेबस के अनुरूप ही नए सत्र में प्रवेश की प्रक्रिया को संचालित करने को अपने प्रोस्पेक्टस भी तैयार किए हैं।

    इससे जाहिर है कि नए सत्र में में पुराने सिलेबस के अनुरूप ही सभी स्नातक डिग्री कोर्स में प्रवेश दिया जाएगा। सरकार और शिक्षा विभाग के स्तर पर राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति पर अब तक कोई फैसला नहीं हो पाया है। नई नीति के अनुरूप सिलेबस, आर्डिनेंस तैयार करने की प्रक्रिया भी विवि में बीते माह हुई ईसी की बैठक के बाद से बंद पड़ी है। यूजी के जारी प्रवेश शेड्यूल के अनुसार तीस जून से शुरू हो रही प्रवेश प्रक्रिया के लिए अब मुश्किल से एक माह ही शेष रह गया है। इतने कम समय में चाहकर भी राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति को लागू करने की तैयारी करना और इसके लिए आवश्यक सिलेबस तैयार कर इसे अप्रूव करवाने, आर्डिनेंस को ईसी से मंजूर करवाने के लिए समय नहीं बचा है।

    5 से 29 जून तक कॉलेजों में रहेगा ग्रीष्मकालीन अवकाश शिमला। एचपीयू और एसपीयू दोनों विश्वविद्यालयों में 5 से 29 जून तक शिक्षकों का ग्रीष्मकालीन अवकाश रहेगा। इसलिए कॉलेजों में शिक्षक मौजूद नहीं रहेंगे। इस पर एनईपी को लागू करने को लेकर कोई फैसला हुआ, तो उसके अनुसार नए सत्र के लिए प्रवेश की तैयारियां करना कॉलेजों के लिए भी संभव नहीं होगा। 7 अप्रैल की नहीं बनी थी नई नीति लागू करने पर सहमति शिमला। एचपीयू की ईसी की 7 अप्रैल को हुई बैठक में नई शिक्षा नीति को 2023 सत्र से लागू किए जाने पर सदस्यों में सहमति नहीं बन पाई थी। इसमें कॉलेजों में नीति के अनुरूप सुविधाएं मुहैया करवाने के बाद ही कोई फैसला लिए जाने का निर्णय हुआ था। विवि के अधिष्ठाता अध्ययन प्रो. बीके शिवराम ने कहा कि सरकार के जो आदेश होंगे, उसके अनुसार शेष प्रक्रिया पूरी कर दी जाएगी।

    Governor of Himachal Pradesh Shiv Pratap Shukla will inaugurate the new main gate of Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni on April 26. The gate has been built in hill architecture at a cost of Rs 75 lakh with funding support from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. During his visit to the university, the Governor will also inaugurate the Inter College Sports and Games Meet of the university in which the students of all the four constituent colleges of the university will take part in track and field events and different sporting events. Besides, he will also address the faculty and students of the university in the LS Negi Auditorium. During the visit, the Governor will also chair the 16th Senate meeting of the university.

    Shoolini University has invited by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath to open a university in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The offer was made after founder and chancellor Prof. P. K. Khosla briefed the chief minister about the achievements of Shoolini University at the higher education conclave held in Lucknow.

    Prof. Khosla was invited as a panelist at the higher education conclave called “UP for UP: Pradesh me Sthaniya Sansthano ka Prasar” exploring partnerships with private universities to expand in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was the chief guest at the conclave. The event was aimed at exploring partnerships between private universities in India and abroad with the aim of expanding the education sector in Uttar Pradesh.

    Prof. Khosla was called by the chief minister after the conclave and he presented a case for establishing a university in the state focusing on ancient Indian wisdom. Prof. Atul Khosla, Vice Chancellor Shoolini University, also welcomed the offer and stated that a detailed plan would be submitted to the Uttar Pradesh government.

    The Chancellor stated that the Uttar Pradesh government has responded positively to our proposal. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also interested in our proposal to establish a research based university. He also stated that we are one of the best institutions in terms of global international data, and now we are working on the proposal and will submit the documents to the UP Government in a few days.

    Shoolini University Vice Chancellor Prof. Atul Khosla advised universities to collaborate with each other so that the best practises followed by an institution can be adopted by others.

    7th पे-स्केल की मांग ने पकड़ा जोर, विश्वविद्यालय शिक्षकों ने 5 जुलाई तक किया शिक्षा बंद का ऐलान

    शिमला, 28 जून : हिमाचल प्रदेश विधानसभा चुनाव (Himachal Pradesh Assembly Elections) से पहले प्रदेश सरकार की समस्याएं बढ़ती हुई नजर आ रही हैं। विश्वविद्यालय के शिक्षकों ने सेवंथ यूजीसी पे स्केल (7th UGC Pay Scale) की मांग को लेकर 5 जुलाई तक शिक्षा बंद करने का फैसला लिया है। इससे पहले 22 जून के दिन हिमाचल प्रदेश विश्वविद्यालय (Himachal Pradesh University) के शिक्षकों ने वीसी ऑफिस से समरहिल चौक तक रोष रैली निकालकर प्रदर्शन किया था।

    विश्वविद्यालय के शिक्षकों को प्रदेश सरकार की ओर से जल्द से जल्द सेवंथ यूजीसी पे स्केल देने की बात कही गई थी, लेकिन साल 2016 से लंबित पे स्केल 6 साल बीत जाने के बाद भी शिक्षकों को नहीं मिल पाया है। इसी पे स्केल की मांग को लेकर हिमाचल प्रदेश विश्वविद्यालय, नौणी विश्वविद्यालय और पालमपुर कृषि विश्वविद्यालय के शिक्षकों ने 5 जुलाई तक शिक्षा बंद करने का ऐलान किया है। इस दौरान विश्वविद्यालय में हाल ही में हुई परीक्षाओं के पेपर चेक करने का काम भी बंद किया जाएगा, जिसकी वजह से आम छात्रों को खासी परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ सकता है।

    प्रदेश सरकार के सामने अपनी मांग रखने के लिए हिमाचल प्रदेश विश्वविद्यालय टीचर एसोसिएशन (Himachal Pradesh University Teacher Association) और हिमाचल प्रदेश विश्वविद्यालय टीचर यूनियन की ओर से ज्वाइंट एक्शन कमेटी का गठन किया गया है। ज्वाइंट एक्शन कमेटी के सेक्रेटरी मेंबर जोगिंदर सकलानी ने कहा कि साल 2016 से अब तक सेवंथ यूजीसी पे स्केल लंबित है। प्रदेश भर के 3 हजार शिक्षक लंबे समय से पे स्केल दिए जाने की मांग कर रहे हैं, लेकिन प्रदेश सरकार शिक्षकों की मांग को नहीं सुन रही।

    उन्होंने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री जयराम ठाकुर ने मंडी की जनसभा में सेवंथ पे स्केल देने की बात कही थी, लेकिन अब सरकार वादाखिलाफी कर रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि जिन शिक्षकों को कक्षा में रहकर बच्चों को पढ़ाना चाहिए, उन शिक्षकों को सड़कों पर उतरकर प्रदर्शन करने के लिए मजबूर किया जा रहा है।

    बता दें कि सभी राज्य सरकारों ने विश्वविद्यालय शिक्षकों को सेवंथ यूजीसी पे-स्केल दे दिया है। केवल हिमाचल प्रदेश सरकार ही अभी तक शिक्षकों को 7th यूजीसी पे-स्केल नहीं दे रही है। ऐसे में तमाम शिक्षक यह मांग कर रहे हैं कि अन्य राज्यों की तर्ज पर जल्द से जल्द सेवंथ पे स्केल दिया जाए।

    Himachal Pradesh based Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences has been highly commended and awarded the 2nd prize by the prestigious Times Higher Education (TIE) Awards Asia for their ‘outstanding support for students.’

     

    Widely referred to as the ‘Oscars of Higher Education’, the THE Awards offer an important international platform to recognise and applaud outstanding leadership and institutional performance. The THE Asian Awards celebrate the achievements of the continent’s higher education.

     

    Shoolini University is a pioneering University set in the foothills of the Himalayas that has taken this novel step of bringing the facility of Coaching to its students through the partnership with International Coaching Federation (ICF).

     

    Under the programme, over 600 students have been coached with the help of 100 International ICF Credentialed Coaches. It has helped bring forth the importance of coaching and the art of questioning at a younger stage in life rather than in the later years.

     

    Hailing the award, Chancellor Prof P K Khosla said he was elated to hear the news. He said the university had been taking pro-active steps to support the students in all possible ways. He said the V-Empower programme was unique as it involved over 100 certified coaches from across the world to provide guidance and coaching to students of Shoolini University.

     

    Pro Chancellor Mr Vishal Anand said “we believe in inspiring each and every student who joins the community. I’m happy the Times Higher Education Awards has recognised our efforts towards inspiring young minds to achieve their full potential”.

     

    The THE Awards Asia highly extolled the pro-bono initiative and commitment of Shoolini University toward the V-Empower Coaching Program. It is an umbrella approach initiated by Vice Chancellor Atul Khosla and Coach Payal Khanna that prioritises the hidden potential of each individual engendering the growth and excellence of the institution.

     

    It is a steadfast strategy that empowers individuals on a vast scale, focusing mainly on students and catering to a spectrum of departments to empower them. It is an attempt at providing young individuals with an open space to discuss their issues and come up with answers.

     

    The goal is to include this intervention in the teaching sector with the traditional ways that exist. The highest significant change made among the respondents was negotiation, influence and leadership skills. It has been a huge success through word of mouth and its survey results, which speaks volumes for itself.

    The two-day International Coaching Conclave (TICC) 2022, a first-of-its-kind Conference with spotlight on the Confluence of Coaching, Academia and Industry, organised by V-Empower team, concluded on Saturday.
    The theme of this year’s International Coaching Conclave was ‘Shaping lives through Coaching’ and shed light on “Coaching in the Education Sector”.
    Renowned speakers and delegates joined from all over the country and abroad to be a part of this summit, to share their knowledge and enhance horizons.
    The International Coaching Federation Foundation (ICFF) and 100 ICF credentialed coaches over the past year have partnered with Shoolini University to offer free Coaching to students and faculty. The impact insights and learnings, the processes, and best practices in the field were shared from that experience.
    Founder and Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla shared his inputs and his unwavering belief that students deserve access to coaching and a chance to make more informed and free decisions about their lives. He underscored the importance of finding a purpose firmly resting on strong values.
    The conference was attended by more than 600 participants over two days coming from more than 10 countries and various institutions across India and overseas tuned in to know about the powerful, unique and path-breaking coaching intervention happening at a massive scale at the Shoolini university and the huge success it had chronicled the past year.
    Prof. P.K. Khosla Chancellor, Shoolini University joined online and encouraged and appreciated the efforts of the coaches.
    Magda, CEO, ICF spoke about working on opening one’s mind to other perspectives, overcoming fears, and closing gaps in our own development.
    Jonathan’s Reitz, CEO, Fluxify, stated that coach is someone who invests all he has for the success of the other person. Dr Ruth Reitmeier, Director CoachRice, presented fact based impact of coaching youth.
    The experiences and data from Magdalene Mook, Ruth Reithmeier, Sushma Banthia and others, reiterated need for coaching in academia and the massive impact a program of this magnitude can do. The clear mandate from the conversations was that coaching for students is the need of the hour.
    Prof. Atul Khosla, Vishal Jain, MD Accenture, Esther Zirbel, an astrophysict and coach looked at how the Learning Ecosystem evolved in the last decade and is likely to over the next decade.
    The Panel on, “Fast Forwarding your career through Coaching” had Kavi Arasu, Principal at Flyntrok, Rhonda Bowen, and Prof. Atul Khosla shared views on students being coached at a young age in campus and the role coaching plays, in the journey from campus to corporate in shaping their career.
    Last panel saw students from across the universities of the world and Shoolini students bring to fore the real stories of change and transformation enabled by coaching.
    Amy Brann, the closing key note speaker worked her combination of scientific expertise and practical real-world business experience gave participants easy-to-implement frameworks that are proven to uplift brain performance.

    In his valedictory address Prof Atul Khosla shared his example of standing in front of the mirror every single day and practicing speaking. “This is the commitment you need to give for your own development”, he said.

    आईईसी विश्वविद्यालय में चौथे दीक्षांत समारोह का भव्य आयोजन 

    ज़िला सोलन के अटल शिक्षा कुंज स्थित आईईसी विश्वविद्यालय में चौथे दीक्षांत समारोह का सफल आयोजन शनिवार 12 मार्च को किया गया। इस समारोह में माननीय श्री न्यायमूर्ति प्रदीप कुमार श्रीवास्तव, अध्यक्ष, राज्य विधि आयोग (उत्तर प्रदेश), मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित रहे। इस भव्य दीक्षांत समारोह का शुभारंभ मुख्य अतिथि, विशेष अतिथिगण और शैक्षणिक जनसमूह के द्वारा दीप प्रज्ज्वलन और मां सरस्वती की वंदना के बाद आईईसी गान के साथ किया गया।

    इस समारोह का पूर्ण आयोजन विश्वविद्यालय के नियमानुसार हुआ, जिसमें विश्वविद्यालय के गत वर्ष में उत्तीर्ण सभी पीएचडी, एमफिल, स्नातकोत्तर तथा स्नातक छात्रों को डिग्री प्रदान की गई और विभिन्न संकायों के होनहार विद्यार्थियों को स्वर्ण पदक से भी सम्मानित किया गया। इसके अलावा बिहार सरकार के ग्रामीण विकास मंत्री श्री श्रवण कुमार सहित उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार के अध्यक्ष / राज्यमंत्री, भवन अवं अन्य सनिर्मांण कर्मकारी राज्य परामर्शदात्री समिति (श्रम एवं सेवायोजना) श्री रघुराज सिंह को उनके विशिष्ट कार्य के लिए मानद उपाधि से सम्मानित किया गया।

    इस अवसर पर मुख्य अतिथि महोदय ने समारोह को संबोधित करते हुए सभी डिग्री धारकों के उज्जवल भविष्य की कामना की और अर्जित विद्या का उपयोग लोकहित में करने की सीख दी।

    विश्वविद्यालय के कुलाधिपति माननीय डॉ० नवीन गुप्ता जी ने चौथे दीक्षांत समारोह को संबोधित करते हुए सभी उपाधि-धारकों को बधाई दी और आईईसी विश्वविद्यालय के उद्देश्य को दोहराते हुए छात्रों के पूर्ण विकास को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए संभव सहायता का आश्वासन दिया।

    आईईसी विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति प्रो० (डॉ०) शमीम अहमद ने अपने उद्बोधन में दीक्षांत समारोह का अर्थ समझाते हुए इस आरम्भ को ईश्वर का शुभ आशीर्वाद मान कर सदैव राष्ट्र के विकास में कार्य करते रहने की प्रेरणा दी।

    Role of university in horticulture improvement discussed

    Dr. Parvinder Kaushal, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni interacted with progressive growers Prem Chauhan and Harish Chauhan at the university campus and discussed the university’s role in the improvement of horticulture in the state.

    While interacting with the Vice-Chancellor, the farmers requested the university to create more awareness about the problem of rusting which has been occurring in apple crop for the past few years. Prem Chauhan, who is an award-winning orchardist from Shimla, thanked the university scientists for their constant support and guidance due to which his work has been recognized on various platforms.  He said that the farmers needed to follow the university spray schedule but also requested the university to prepare a ‘control spray schedule’ so that it can be made more economical. Chauhan lauded the decision of the university to attach Undergraduate students with a farming family. He suggested that these students must be encouraged to establish practical models for horticulture crops in the farmer’s fields and such models should also carry marks for the award of final degree.

    Harish Chauhan, convener of Hill States Horticulture Forum raised the issue of proper quarantine of imported planting material. He called for a greater role of the university in such activities so that only the disease and pest-free material reach the farmer’s field. Harish Chauhan also suggested that the university must prepare a spray schedule for pear, as a large number of orchardists are engaged in its cultivation. Discussion on expanding the reach of the university extension programmes and the proper utilization of the skilled human resource created by the university for the betterment of the farming community were also undertaken during the meeting.

    Dr. Kaushal said that the university appreciates the suggestions of the farmers and will ensure that these can be implemented into the university programmes. During the interaction, Dr. Kaushal shared the various steps taken by the university in the past few years to improve its outreach. He said that the university has been actively seeking suggestions from the farmers and experts to finalize its research and extension programmes and for this purpose regular brainstorming sessions are organized with the active participation of progressive farmers from all over the state.
