    A grand programme was organised at IEC University, located at Atal Shiksha Kunj in Solan district, to celebrate International Women’s Day. Like every year, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from teachers, students and staff members of the university.

    The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the formal welcome of the chief guests.

    On the occasion, students captivated the audience with a series of cultural performances, including poetry recitation, speech competitions, skits, one-act plays, Haryanvi dance, Gidda and Bhangra.

    IEC University Registrar Dr. Prahlad Gupta extended warm greetings to all women and said that the university remains committed to the empowerment and development of women. He added that the day is dedicated to recognising and celebrating the contributions and achievements of women in society.

    The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the programme coordinator, Dr. Bharti, who expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the programme a success.

    The two-day AIU Anveshan 2025–26 National Research Convention concluded at Shoolini University, bringing together student innovators from universities across the country. Organised in collaboration with the Association of Indian Universities, the convention celebrated creativity, research excellence and interdisciplinary innovation among young scholars.

    The event witnessed participation across diverse categories, including Interdisciplinary, Social Sciences, Health, Engineering and Technology, Basic Sciences, and Agriculture. On the concluding day, winners were announced and felicitated for their outstanding research projects and innovative prototypes.

    In the final results, Team PROHEAL from Savitribai Phule Pune University won the Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Gold Medal Award and in the Interdisciplinary category, projects such as Dengue Detector, Neuropulse and Ricky received top honours. Team Bioplastic secured first position in Social Sciences, followed by Tasun and Catalyst. In the Health category, Proheal and Microb Range emerged among the leading entries. Engineering and Technology featured notable innovations including Atonowaz, Neo-Vissch and Cung. In Basic Sciences, Electronic X, Vrdionx and Heartery were recognised, while in Agriculture, Team Zoophilist, Agro-PFAS Busters and Agritech Fusion were declared winners.

    Addressing the gathering, Chief Learning Officer, Shoolini University, Ashoo Khosla, said that hosting the convention during an active academic semester had provided a vibrant platform for student creativity and national academic exchange. She acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the University’s Innovation Council, faculty coordinators, volunteers and operations team for ensuring smooth arrangements, including accommodation, transport, venue preparation and hospitality.

    In his valedictory address, Chancellor, Shoolini University, Prof P K Khosla, urged students to believe in their ideas and pursue them with conviction. Prof Khosla emphasised that innovation stemmed from self-belief, perseverance and clarity of purpose, and encouraged young researchers to transform their ideas into impactful solutions for society.

    The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Joint Director, AIU, Amarinder Pani, who expressed appreciation to Shoolini University for hosting what he described as a “Researchers’ Mahakumbh”. He commended the meticulous planning, academic ambience and warm hospitality extended to participating institutions.

    Shoolini University celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great pride, patriotism and enthusiasm. The campus resonated with the spirit of nationalism as the university paid tribute to the ideals enshrined in the Indian Constitution.

    The celebration began with the flag-hoisting ceremony led by Shoolini University Founder-Chancellor Prof. P.K. Khosla, along with Trustees Mr. Satish Anand and Mr. Ashok Anand. Dignitaries from Shoolini University present at the event included: President and Chief Innovation and Marketing Officer Prof. Ashish Khosla, Director Planning Prof J.M. Julka, Director Operations Brig. S.D. Mehta (Retd.), Associate Dean Student Welfare Prof. Neeraj Gandotra, Chief Learning Officer Dr. Ashoo Khosla and SILB Founder and President Mrs. Saroj Khosla.

    The chief guests at the event were, Director (Research), Association of Indian Universities, Dr. Amrendra Pani, Senior Lecturer, L. N. Girdhari Lal Senior Secondary School, Chandni Chowk, Mr. Vishaan Kumar Kaushik, and Advocate Amit Kumar Singh, whose presence added academic and social distinction to the occasion.

    The programme featured a vibrant series of cultural performances, including soulful patriotic songs and energetic dance presentations by students, beautifully reflecting India’s unity in diversity. The performance by the university housekeeping staff stood out during the celebration and earned warm appreciation from the audience for their contribution to campus life.

    Addressing the gathering, Prof. P. K. Khosla shared inspiring thoughts on the significance of the Indian Constitution and urged students to uphold democratic values and contribute responsibly to nation-building. This was followed by an insightful address by Dr. Amrendra Pani, who emphasised the critical roles of education, research and ethical leadership in shaping a progressive and inclusive India.

    Prof. Ashish Khosla expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, guests, faculty members, staff and students for their participation and coordination in making the Republic Day celebration a success.     IEC University to Host 5th BBN Bike Ride with ‘Say No to Drugs’ Message

     

    Baddi: Located at Atal Shiksha Kunj in Solan district, IEC University will once again organize the grand two-day BBN Bike Ride on the occasion of Himachal Pradesh Statehood Day and Republic Day, continuing its annual tradition. This year’s theme is “Say No to Drugs,” aiming to actively connect youth with the anti-drug awareness campaign.

    The bike rally is being organized in collaboration with Delhi’s “Royal Enfield Riders.” On the first day, the riders will travel from Delhi to IEC University, and on the second day, the rally will spread the message of drug-free living and social awareness across the BBN region.

    Adding to the spirit of the event, students of IEC University will present cultural performances and motivational speeches centered on the theme of drug awareness and de-addiction.

    Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor of IEC University said that the initiative is a significant step toward educating young people about the harmful effects of drug abuse. He added that the bike ride will not only be an adventurous journey but also a strong symbol of social responsibility and awareness.

    Shoolini University organised a Winter Camp for the children of its employees, continuing its tradition of nurturing young minds through fun-filled and meaningful activities. The camp was held from January 5 to January 16 under the leadership of Mrs. Poonam Nanda, Director of Sustainability and Community Engagement.

    Now in its third consecutive year, the Winter Camp aims at the holistic development of children by blending learning with creativity and physical activity. This year, the camp placed special emphasis on sustainability and creativity, encouraging children to learn through engaging and interactive experiences.

    Throughout the camp, students participated in a wide range of activities, including yoga, dance, music, acting and plays, indoor and outdoor games, and art and craft projects using waste materials. These thoughtfully designed activities helped nurture creativity, physical fitness, teamwork, and environmental awareness among the young participants.

    On the concluding day, the children proudly showcased their handmade creations in an exhibition organised for their parents and university staff members. The exhibition reflected the creativity, confidence, and learning outcomes achieved during the camp.

    The chief guest of the occasion was Shoolini University Chief Learning Officer, Dr. Ashoo Khosla. She encouraged students to actively participate in co-curricular activities alongside their academic studies, highlighting the importance of balanced development.

    The Winter Camp received positive feedback from parents and staff, who appreciated the university’s efforts in providing a safe, joyful, and enriching environment for children.

    Lock IN 2.0, a high-energy multi-title gaming tournament organised by the Joypad Symphony Club of Shoolini University, concluded with a prize distribution ceremony held on the campus.

    The tournament featured five popular esports titles FIFA, Free Fire, BGMI, Valorant, and Tekken and attracted enthusiastic participation from the university’s gaming community.

    The event was attended by Chancellor Prof. P.K. Khosla and Prof. Neeraj Gandotra, Associate Dean Student Welfare.

    In FIFA, Vatsal clinched the championship title with an impressive performance.

    In BGMI, the squad “Dogra Rifles” secured first place, while “Team T-hooq” emerged as runners-up.

    Valorant saw strong gameplay by “Team Eternal Sin”, who claimed the winning title.

    In Tekken, Kartik won first prize, followed by Parambir Singh as runner-up.

    In Free Fire, “For the Win” secured first prize, while “Nameless” took second place.

    The tournament was organised under the banner of Joypad Symphony, Shoolini University’s official gaming club. The core organising team Ashran, Ayush Dhiman, Irfan, and Shivam—worked with dedication under the guidance and support of Prof. Neeraj Gandotra and Mrs Poonam Nanda, Director Sustainability and Community Engagement.

    Nauni, Solan: Excitement filled the air at Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, as the Second University Employees Sports, Games and Cultural Meet commenced today on the university’s main campus. The much-awaited event witnessed enthusiastic participation and support from students, who cheered on the university staff and faculty competing across various sports and cultural categories.

    Five teams comprising employees from different research stations, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, and constituent colleges are participating in this year’s event. These include teams from the College of Horticulture, College of Forestry (main campus) and colleges at Neri and Thunag, along with a team representing the Administrative Block.

    The event was inaugurated by Prof. Rajeshwar Singh Chandel, Vice Chancellor of the university. In his address, Prof. Chandel noted that the enthusiastic response to last year’s inaugural edition inspired the continuation of this initiative, which aims to foster a healthy, happy and collaborative environment among university employees and students. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a fitness-oriented mindset, highlighting that professional commitments often leave little room for staff to engage in sports and hobbies.

    “This three-day event offers our employees a refreshing break and an opportunity to assess their fitness routines,” Prof. Chandel said. He also appreciated the efforts of the Office of the Dean Students’ Welfare and various employee associations for promoting a culture of health, fitness and sportsmanship on campus. The inaugural ceremony featured a march past followed by the oath of sportsmanship, administered by the team of College of Horticulture, Winners of last year’s event. This year 257 participants are taking part in the meet.

    Over the next three days, participants will compete in a wide range of track and field events—including 100m, 200m, and 400m races, long jump, javelin throw, and tug-of-war—for both men and women. Events are divided into two categories: 21–40 years and 41–60 years. In addition, competitions in badminton, table tennis, chess, kabaddi, volleyball, and cricket will be held, along with cultural performances featuring solo, group, and folk songs. The overall winner will be determined based on cumulative points from all competitions.

    Day 1 Highlights

    In the 100-meter race for statutory officers, Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajeshwar Singh Chandel secured first place, followed by Dr. D.R. Bhardwaj (Librarian) and Dr. Sanjeev Chauhan (Director Research), who finished second and third respectively. In the 100-meter race for department heads, Dr. Rajneesh Sharma(College of Horticulture) claimed the top position, while Dr. Rakesh Sharma (College of Horticulture) and Dr. B.S. Dogra (Neri) stood second and third. In the men’s 200 meters (over 40 years), Dr. Sumit (Horticulture) bagged first place, with Vipan (Administrative Block) and Rajneesh (Forestry) finishing second and third. In the women’s 200 meters (over 40 years), Dr. Aruna (Thunag) won gold, followed by Tara Devi (Forestry) and Mamta (Horticulture).In the 200 meters (under 40 years) women’s category, Dr. Shreya (Forestry) won gold, while Deepika (Horticulture) and Deepika (Administrative Block) secured silver and bronze respectively. In the men’s 200 meters (under 40 years), Lucky (Administrative Block) took first place, with Vikas (Forestry) and Dr. Pranjay (Administrative Block) finishing second and third.

    In tug-of-war, the women’s team from Neri triumphed over the Administrative Block, while Thunag defeated Horticulture. In the semifinals, Neri beat Forestry. In men’s kabaddi, the Administrative Block team beat Neri, while Forestry College emerged victorious against Horticulture. In volleyball (female), Administrative Block defeated Thunag, and Forestry beat Horticulture. In the men’s volleyball, Administrative Block overcame the College of Horticulture to advance to the next round.

    As part of the Scientific Social Responsibility (SSR) activity under the ANRF-funded project supported by the Government of India, Shoolini University conducted a students’ visit programme on the campus.

    The initiative was organised and supervised by Dr Hemlata Kaurav, Associate Professor, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences, Solan.

    A group of 25 Class XII students from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Nauni, Solan, participated in the interactive session. The programme aimed to inspire young minds, raise awareness about healthcare, and provide exposure to advanced research facilities.

    During the visit, the students explored the Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Laboratories, Animal House Facility, Yogananda Library, and the Oswal Centre of Nanotechnology. They also observed live demonstrations of cutting-edge techniques and engaged in interactive discussions with faculty members and research scholars.

    The event concluded with a feedback session, where students expressed their enthusiasm and appreciation for the opportunity to experience first-hand the university’s world-class infrastructure and research culture.

    Shoolini University, in collaboration with DigiMantra, organised a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme “Bridging Industry and Academia through AI-Powered Teaching and Learning.”

    The day-long programme brought together university faculty, senior administrators, and industry experts to discuss the integration of Artificial Intelligence into modern teaching and learning practices.

    The FDP formed part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed earlier between Shoolini University and DigiMantra, under which an Incubation Centre was announced. The centre will serve as a platform for student placements, industry-led projects, faculty engagement and knowledge exchange. Also to organise FDP, curriculum development, students’ live projects, and conduct Microsoft certification

    Delivering the keynote address, Mr Bikram Jeet Singh, Global Vice President of DigiMantra, highlighted the need for graduates to become interdisciplinary professionals capable of adapting across diverse fields such as Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure.

    The sessions also examined the transition from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0, stressing the growing importance of human–machine collaboration and sustainable development.

    Interactive activities encouraged faculty members to design industry-driven assignments, identify existing skill gaps, and participate in a corporate-level simulation exercise. Participants were also introduced to a suite of AI-powered industry tools, including ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Tableau GPT and Canva Magic Design.

    In his address, Prof P K Khosla, Chancellor of Shoolini University, praised the FDP as a forward-looking initiative that would strengthen academia-industry partnerships and prepare students to meet future challenges.

    Youth Red Cross (YRC), Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, successfully hosted a vibrant event titled “Tambola – Play for a Cause” as part of the ongoing Foundation Week celebrations. The event, held at the university’s Moot Court Hall, saw an overwhelming participation of approximately 250 individuals, including both students and faculty members. With a cash prize pool of ₹10,700, the game featured two thrilling rounds of Tambola, which provided both entertainment and a competitive edge to the participants.

     

    In keeping with the values of humanitarian service promoted by the Red Cross, the remaining funds generated from the event will be donated to those in need, reinforcing the university’s commitment to social responsibility. The event was not only a source of enjoyment but also a meaningful contribution to the welfare of the community, with the spirit of compassion and service taking center stage.
