A case of illegal cutting of trees from government land has come to light under Badsar sub-division of the district. After the matter came to light, the Forest Department has imposed a fine of Rs 25 thousand. This case of illegal felling has come in the 60th beat of the sub-division. Social activist Paramjit Datwalia, after getting information about the matter, showed the evidence to the Forest Department team and demanded action.
After receiving the complaint, investigation found that 9 trees had been cut from government land. The department officials had conducted a complete investigation in this matter. At the same time, the departmental officers have collected a fine of Rs 25 thousand from Samaila Panchayat Pradhan DR in this case. Along with this, wood has also been taken into possession. Let us tell you that the state government has imposed a complete ban on cutting of any kind of trees from private and government land. Permits are being issued only for the felling that has already taken place.
Beat Officer Vinod Kumar said, ‘As soon as the department got information about this matter, the team immediately reached the spot and Samaila Panchayat Pradhan was fined Rs 25,000 for the 9 trees that were cut.’ Social activist Paramjit Datwalia said, ‘Trees were being cut illegally. A complaint had come to him about this. He himself collected all the evidence at his own level and handed it over to the Forest Department team. After this the Forest Department team has taken action in the matter.
