₹31 Lakh Sanctioned for Himachal Bhawan in Faridabad on Anurag Singh Thakur’s Demand

Himachali Living Outside the State Have Upheld the Honour of Himachal: says Anurag Singh Thakur at a Function Organised by Himachal Welfare Association in Faridabad

Former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Singh Thakur participated in a Himachali cultural function organised by the Himachal Welfare Association in Faridabad, along with Haryana Cabinet Minister Vipul Goel and local MLA Dinesh Adhlakha. On Anurag Singh Thakur’s demand for the construction of Himachal Bhawan in Faridabad, Vipul Goel sanctioned ₹21 lakh and Dinesh Adhlakha ₹10 lakh, taking the total sanctioned amount to ₹31 lakh.

 

Thousands of Himachalis from different districts of Himachal Pradesh participated in the cultural programme and enjoyed traditional Himachali music, dance and Dham. Anurag Singh Thakur thanked the Himachal Welfare Association and the organising committee for successfully conducting the event.

 

Anurag Singh Thakur said, “Wherever Himachalis live, a mini Himachal naturally emerges. Every Himachali living outside the state has upheld the honour of the Himachali cap through hard work and honesty and contributed to the nation-building journey of India. A large number of Himachalis in Faridabad are making an important contribution to the development of the region. I thank the Haryana Government and the local MLA for sanctioning ₹31 lakh for the long-pending Himachal Bhawan project.”

 

He said that four of the 21 Param Vir Chakra awardees in the country are from Himachal Pradesh. Himachal’s brave soldiers have received 2 Ashoka Chakras, 10 Maha Vir Chakras, 19 Kirti Chakras, 51 Vir Chakras, 90 Shaurya Chakras and 989 other service medals, taking the total to around 1,165 gallantry honours. More than 4.5 lakh Himachali families are associated with the Indian Armed Forces. During the Kargil War, 52 brave soldiers from Himachal Pradesh made the supreme sacrifice.

 

He said that soldiers had been demanding One Rank One Pension for decades, and the Narendra Modi Government took the initiative to implement it.

 

On the Kishau Multipurpose Project, Anurag Singh Thakur said that, following the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and through the initiative of Amit Shah and C. R. Patil, meetings were held with the Chief Ministers of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi to resolve the long-pending differences over the project. On September 15, 2026, six states signed the agreement for the Kishau Multipurpose Project, paving the way for its implementation. He said the Narendra Modi Government resolved this long-pending issue by bringing all the concerned states together.
