Green felling has happened in Jubbarhatti Forest, adjoining Shimla. Under this, it is reported that about 40 green trees of different species have been cut illegally in the area. Local people have made a written complaint to the forest department regarding this. After the written complaint, the department has started its investigation.
Despite the strictness of the government and forest department in the state, the process of illegal cutting of green trees continues. People are cutting trees without permission. Under this, some people are cutting trees to sell them, while others are cutting trees for the purpose of using or occupying the land for agriculture. One such case has come to light in Jubbarhatti Forest Beat in Chanog, Shimla. Here about 40 green trees of varieties like Jamun, Tuni, Kanth and Kakar etc. were cut. It is alleged that these trees have been cut without the permission of the forest department.
Investigation of the case handed over to RO
DFO Flying Squad Himanshu said that a complaint has been received in this regard. Its investigation has been handed over to the RO. He said that after investigation in this case, if anyone is found guilty, then action will be taken against him as per the law.
