Auckland House School for Boys, Shimla, celebrated its Lower Primary Department (LPD) Speech Day 2026 on Friday with a colourful and energetic showcase of music, dance, storytelling and India’s rich cultural traditions.
The programme was graced by Maheshwar Singh Chauhan, Chairman, HIMFED, Himachal Pradesh, as the Chief Guest. He encouraged the young performers and presented awards to the students.
Addressing the gathering, Chauhan praised the confidence and enthusiasm displayed by the children, saying the performances reflected the talent of the students as well as the dedication of their teachers and support of their parents. He congratulated the school and students for presenting a joyful and memorable celebration.
The programme began with the Welcome Address and ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a soulful rendition of You Are with Me, O Lord! by the Class II Choir.
The young performers then captivated the audience with an entertaining line-up featuring Hula Hula, Japanese Bum Bum, Rasputin, Howdy! Let’s Get Hoppin and Dreamers. Class II students brought storytelling alive with The Selfish Giant, followed by much-loved melodies including It’s a Small World and You Are My Sunshine.
The celebrations took a vibrant cultural turn with folk performances showcasing Bihu, Ghoomar, Garba and Bhangra, reflecting India’s diverse traditions through the energy and enthusiasm of the young performers.
Presenting the Annual Report, Principal Reuben John highlighted the enthusiasm, confidence and participation of the youngest students. “To see our youngest boys step onto the stage with such boundless enthusiasm, fearless joy, and genuine smiles is the true reward of what we do every day. Today wasn’t just a showcase of talent but it was a celebration of childhood, confidence, and community,” he said.
He added that every dance step and musical note reflected the spirit of the boys, making the school community proud of their performance.
The event concluded with the Prize Distribution Ceremony, followed by a Token of Gratitude and the Vote of Thanks. The celebration brought together students, teachers and parents in an evening that highlighted the joy of childhood, the confidence of young learners and the power of creative expression.
