If Hati has established a relationship then we will also maintain it with full intensity.
Shillai: Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, while strongly attacking the Congress government in the convention of newly elected BJP representatives in the Shillai assembly constituency, said that even though the Congress is in power in the state, the people still remember the development schemes started during the BJP government’s tenure. He said that the current Sukhu government has not made any new scheme in its three and a half years of tenure, so how will the public remember it. Whether we are in power or not is not important, but staying in the hearts of the people is a big thing. Once the relationship has been established, we will maintain it with full intensity.
Jairam Thakur alleged that the Sukhu government in the state is known not for its work, but for halting and shutting down development projects out of vengeance. The government has locked nearly 2,500 educational and administrative institutions that were opened based on budgetary provisions and public demand, because the Chief Minister feels that if he doesn’t want to return to power, why pursue development.
He said that in the recently concluded Panchayat Raj and local body elections, Chief Minister Sukhu was only counting BJP factions, while the BJP secured victory for 80 percent of its ideologically aligned representatives, winning 10 out of 11 district councils and three municipal corporations. Taking a dig at the Congress’s internal strife, he claimed that after the crushing defeat, the Congress high command, led by Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, reprimanded the Chief Minister. Sukhu blamed the ministers for the defeat to hide his own failures, but the ministers directly blamed him for the defeat and even recommended his removal from office. Now, the embittered Chief Minister is desperately trying to save his chair and is blaming others for the defeat. The former MLA son of a minister in his own government has even leveled serious allegations against him of sending a briefcase to Delhi, clearly demonstrating the extent of corruption within the government. Jairam Thakur also attacked the Sukhu government on the issues of false guarantees, misleading credit for the Kishau project, and mounting debt.
He said that the Kishau project was completed with the consent of six states and after the intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but Sukhuji is unnecessarily praising himself. Clarifying the situation on the debt figures, the former Chief Minister said that during his entire tenure, only a loan of Rs 19,600 crore was taken, which led to continuous development work, but in just three and a half years, the Sukhu government has taken a new loan of Rs 50,000 crore, taking the total debt of the state from Rs 69,600 crore to Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand crore, yet no development is visible on the ground.
Addressing the people of Shillai, he reiterated his commitment to securing tribal status for the Hati community and said that the efforts of former MLA Baldev Tomar will not go in vain and that the people will teach a lesson to those who conspired. Referring to the grand welcome led by former MLA Baldev Tomar and the slogans of “Hati ka Mama Jairam Thakur,” he said that we are typical Pahari people and once we establish a relationship with our hearts, we maintain it with all our heart.
At the end of the program, Jairam Thakur expressed his deep condolences on the passing of former BJP district president and state spokesperson Vinay Gupta and paid tribute to him. Present on the occasion were MLA Reena Kashyap, former MLA Baldev Tomar, District Council President Shivani Verma, Vice President Baldev Bhandari, Narayan Singh, and Dalip, along
