Rampur, September 18, 2026: Rampur HPS organised an interactive awareness programme for students of Government Senior Secondary School, Nogli, on waste management, waste segregation and water conservation under the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2026.
The campaign is being conducted by Rampur HPS from September 17 to October 2, 2026, in accordance with the directions of the Ministry of Power and the corporate office.
The awareness session was organised on September 18 under the guidance of Er. Vikas Marwah, Project Head, Rampur HPS, in collaboration with the Municipal Council, Rampur Bushahr. The session focused on the Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rules, 2026, four-way source segregation of waste, liquid waste management and water conservation.
A three-member team from the Municipal Council, Rampur Bushahr, explained key provisions of the SWM Rules, 2026 to the students. Through pamphlets and posters, the team provided practical information on proper waste segregation and scientific waste management and encouraged students to spread awareness in their homes and surrounding areas.
Students participated enthusiastically in the interactive session and discussed various aspects of waste management, reuse, recycling, cleanliness and water conservation.
Speaking on the occasion, Project Head Er. Vikas Marwah said the SWM Rules, 2026 aim to ensure that waste is managed not merely as a problem but as a resource. He highlighted source-level segregation, scientific treatment of organic waste, recovery of recyclable materials and proper disposal of residual waste as key components of effective waste management.
“Cleanliness is not limited to keeping our surroundings clean; it is about developing a culture of responsible behaviour and resource conservation. Proper segregation of waste at source, judicious use of water, and making reuse and recycling part of daily life represent the true spirit of Swachhata Hi Seva,” Marwah said.
Manish Thakur and members of the Municipal Council, Rampur Bushahr, Dinesh Bhaluni, Principal of the school, teachers, and officials and employees of the CSR division of Rampur HPS were present during the programme.
