Shimla, Sept. 19: Auckland House School held its Middle Section Speech Day, celebrating students’ achievements in academics, sports, arts and co-curricular activities through a vibrant programme of music, theatre and dance.
The programme was presented in two segments—Variety Entertainment Programme and Celebration of Excellence. Students of Forms III to V showcased their talent through a musical presentation of The Wizard of Oz, piano recitals, choir performances and folk dances representing Kashmir, Haryana and Sambalpur.
The Hindi play Paani Aa Gaya, staged by Middle Section students, was among the highlights of the programme and conveyed a meaningful social message through theatre.
The Celebration of Excellence began with the Principal’s Report by Mrs. Smaraki Samantaroy, who highlighted the students’ achievements and the school’s emphasis on holistic development. Meritorious students were felicitated with prizes and honours.
Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Samantaroy said, “Speech Day celebrates the many dimensions of a child’s growth. Our students have shown that education is not limited to academic achievement but also involves developing confidence, creativity, discipline and the ability to express oneself.”
The Chief Guest, Dr. Deepali Dhaul, Associate Professor in the Department of English and Chairperson of the Department of Sanskrit at Himachal Pradesh University, congratulated the students and appreciated their confidence and creativity.
“Education is not merely about acquiring knowledge; it is about developing the confidence to think, the sensitivity to understand and the courage to express. The performances today reflect discipline, creativity and teamwork,” Dr. Dhaul said.
The event concluded with the felicitation of students, a Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem.
