Himachal Pradesh Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh will take additional charge of the Public Works Department (PWD) during the absence of PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh, who is scheduled to remain out of the state on a foreign visit.
According to the government order, the temporary arrangement will remain in force during Vikramaditya Singh’s absence, from September 20 to September 28.
Anirudh Singh, who currently holds the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj portfolios, will oversee the functioning of the PWD during this period. The arrangement is aimed at ensuring continuity in the department’s administrative and day-to-day functioning.
The government has made the arrangement as an additional charge, and it does not amount to a permanent change in the allocation of ministerial portfolios.
The temporary redistribution comes at a time when the PWD is handling several ongoing infrastructure and road-related projects across Himachal Pradesh.
