Torch processions from party mandals culminate at district headquarters; participants pledge to contribute towards Viksit Bharat by 2047
HAMIRPUR, October 7: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a district-level ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ at Gandhi Chowk in Hamirpur on Wednesday as part of programmes marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life, service and governance.
The programme was organised by the BJP’s various frontal organisations. Torch processions were taken out from different party mandals and converged at the district headquarters, where the main event was held.
Jhanduta MLA and programme in-charge Jeetram Katwal, BJP district president Rakesh Thakur, Hamirpur MLA Ashish Sharma, former MLA Vijay Agnihotri, BJP Mahila Morcha state general secretary Kamlesh Kumari and former MLA Dr Anil Dhiman were among those present.
The chief guests lit a ceremonial lamp in the presence of party leaders and workers to formally begin the Seva Jyoti Yatra. The event highlighted Modi’s 25 years in public life, with BJP workers recalling his focus on public service, governance, nation-building and welfare.
A ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’ was also organised during the programme, where participants pledged to contribute towards the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047 and to play an active role in nation-building.
BJP workers said the yatra was aimed at taking the message of public service, development and nation-building to people across the district.
