Mandi, April 18, 2026:
In a shocking development in the Sarkaghat Siya murder case, the postmortem report has revealed disturbing details that highlight the brutality of the crime. According to medical experts from Nerchowk Medical College, 19-year-old Siya died due to a severe neck injury, including fracture of neck bones and excessive bleeding.
The report states that the accused, Vikas Patial, attacked Siya repeatedly with a sharp weapon. A total of 11 blows were inflicted, out of which 7 to 8 were targeted specifically at her neck. The intensity of the attack was so severe that the victim had no chance to defend herself or seek help.
Injuries on Siya’s arms indicate she tried to protect herself, pointing toward the violent and relentless nature of the assault. Police investigations, supported by digital evidence and Call Detail Records (CDR), have ruled out earlier speculations regarding any relationship between the victim and the accused.
Authorities confirmed that Siya had no connection with the accused and was reportedly missing for four days before her body was recovered. The accused was arrested within hours of the incident and is currently in police custody.
DSP Sanjeev Gautam stated that the investigation is progressing rapidly, and strong evidence has been gathered. Police are preparing to file a chargesheet soon to ensure strict punishment for the accused in this heinous crime.
