To mark the World Heritage Day, students of Lakshya Public School, Arki, undertook an educational visit to the historic Luteru Mahadev Cave, a site known for its religious and natural significance.
The visit was organised by the school management to commemorate the global observance, with the aim of familiarising students with India’s rich cultural heritage and natural treasures.
Teachers guided the students through the cave, explaining its historical, mythological and geological importance. The group also offered prayers at the Mahadev temple located within the cave premises.
The initiative focused on instilling a sense of responsibility among students towards heritage conservation while helping them connect with local history beyond textbooks.
“It feels much better to see and experience such places in real life than just reading about them. We feel proud of our heritage,” said one student during the visit.
The school principal noted that such educational tours play a crucial role in providing experiential learning and strengthening students’ connection to their roots.
Observed annually on April 18, World Heritage Day highlights the importance of preserving cultural and historical sites across the world.
