The 7-day NSS camp at BUEST, themed “Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat,” effectively focused on health, hygiene, and personal sanitation. Under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. J.K. Sharma, the camp achieved significant milestones:
- Health and Hygiene Awareness: Through activities like Swachhta Pakhwada, village cleaning drives, and health-related surveys, the camp successfully raised awareness about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in both the university and surrounding villages.
- Educational Initiatives: Sessions on common diseases, their symptoms, precautions, and topics like depression and drug awareness provided valuable knowledge to the volunteers and community members.
- Community Engagement: Volunteers engaged with villagers through surveys and awareness campaigns, promoting the Ayushman Bharat health card and emphasizing the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
- Creative Recycling: The “Reinventing the Refuse” activity highlighted the importance of waste management and showcased innovative ways to recycle and repurpose waste materials.
- Cultural and Physical Activities: Celebrations like Yoga Day and the cultural program fostered a sense of community and well-being among the participants.
The camp concluded with a sense of accomplishment, having instilled a strong message of “Clean India, Healthy India” among the volunteers and the broader community. The efforts and dedication of the NSS unit were duly recognized and appreciated, reinforcing the significance of sustained health and sanitation practices.
