In Himachal Pradesh, the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PM-Ujjwala Yojana) will assist women. This program, which was discontinued in December 2023, has been reintroduced in Himachal Pradesh by the central government. To be eligible for a free stove and gas cylinder, eligible women should make sure they complete the scheme form at their Panchayat home as soon as possible.
The central government’s initiative will eliminate the need for clay stoves for low-income women. This program’s main goal is to encourage rural communities to cook using LPG rather than fossil fuels. In response to increased gas costs, the central government is now giving Ujjwala Yojana recipients a ₹339 per cylinder subsidy. The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana form should therefore be completed as soon as possible by eligible women. The state allows low-income adult women to apply for a gas connection. The applicant’s family should not include any taxpayers or government workers.
No more than five acres of unirrigated land or two and a half acres of irrigated land shall belong to the woman. In addition, there should be no gas connection in the woman’s name and no three-wheeler or four-wheeler car in her family. Notably, on May 1, 2016, the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was introduced nationwide.
This program was terminated in Himachal Pradesh in December 2023. Following that, the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was no longer available to state women. The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has been revived in Himachal Pradesh, according to Ajay Chandel, MD of Sai Indane Gas Services Bhoranj. In this case, qualified state poor women should make sure to complete the scheme form in their Panchayat home as soon as possible in order to receive the stove and cylinder for free as well.
