Police have taken a big action against drug smugglers. Shimla Police have busted a drug smuggler gang under the “Mission Clean” being run against drug smuggling and arrested 11 people of this gang. The gang leader is a resident of Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. Police have arrested the gang leader from Kolkata.
The 11 accused arrested from this gang are residents of Kolkata, Delhi, and various areas of Himachal Pradesh. Drug smuggling cases have already been registered against the arrested drug peddlers, including gang leader Sandeep Shah. A case has been registered against all the accused in Police Station Sadar Shimla under Section 21, 29 of the NDPS Act and Section 111 of BNS. This action of the police is being considered an important step towards stopping drug smuggling in the area. Police have been getting inputs about this gang for a long time. Police were trying to trace this gang for many days.
Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Gandhi said, ‘Police was constantly receiving complaints against this gang. The main kingpin of this gang, Sandeep Shah, was involved in illegal drug activities for a long time. The gang kingpin was running a drug nexus in the entire Shimla district. He told me that this gang was using new technology in drug smuggling. They were delivering drugs online.
This gang used to use technology for smuggling. Online booking of drugs was taken by the gang. After this, the parcel was dispatched and sent to the geolocation. The location and video of the parcel were sent online to the customer. The money transaction was also done online. They were running a network of interstate drug peddling.’
