Shimla, July 22, 2026: A high-level review meeting to assess the prevailing monsoon situation in Himachal Pradesh was virtually held today under the chairmanship of Sh. Kamlesh Kumar Pant, Chief Secretary, Himachal Pradesh, at the HP Secretariat, Shimla with all the Deputy Commissioners of Himachal Pradesh.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed the overall monsoon situation across the State, including rainfall-induced incidents, the status of relief and restoration of essential services, road connectivity, power and water supply, and the preparedness of district administrations. Deputy Commissioners briefed the Chair on the prevailing conditions in their respective districts and the measures being undertaken to mitigate the impact of monsoon-related disasters.
The Chief Secretary directed all Deputy Commissioners to maintain the highest level of preparedness and ensure prompt response to any emergency arising due to heavy rainfall, flash floods, landslides, cloudbursts, or other monsoon-related incidents. He emphasized that district administrations should remain on high alert, closely monitor vulnerable locations, and ensure seamless coordination with the State and all line departments.
He further instructed all the Deputy Commissioners to ensure the timely restoration of disrupted essential services, including roads, electricity, drinking water supply, and communication networks. The Chief Secretary also stressed the importance of disseminating weather forecasts and public advisories in a timely manner to enhance public awareness and minimize the risk to life and property.
The State Government remains fully committed to ensuring public safety and minimizing the impact of monsoon-related disasters through coordinated efforts of all departments and district administrations.
