Two squads were established under Police Station Kangra based on the information. In order to verify the information and ascertain the actual situation, the police initially dispatched two officers to the guest home as patrons. The information was verified by the police officers who showed up as fictitious clients. The problem became evident after this. Both police teams conducted a coordinated raid on the guest house when the information was verified.
Two females who were being held in the guest home and forced to do immoral tasks were retrieved from the scene by the police during the raid. In addition, the primary accused lady, who was in charge of this whole illicit enterprise, has been taken into custody by the police.
The detained lady, who is 35 years old, lives in Manimajra, Punjab. In accordance with the IMMORAL TRAFFIC PREVENTION ACT, 1956 (ITPA), the police have filed a case against the defendant and initiated further proceedings. In this instance, the police have also filed a complaint against the guest house’s owner. Both of the victim females were securely rescued and are being held under guard throughout this operation. This could be a component of a larger scheme that has connections to other states.
SSP Kangra Shalini Agnihotri said that ‘Our team had received an input that illegal activities were going on in a hotel in Kangra. After this, Kangra Police raided the private hotel. During this, two women were rescued, while one woman has been arrested. Action is being taken in the case under ITPA.’
