Deputy Commissioner and President of the District Red Cross Society, Mukesh Repaswal, stated that the Eat Right Fair will be organized jointly with the proposed district-level Red Cross Fair on October 24. He stated that the fair’s purpose is to promote public service and social participation, as well as to raise public awareness about health, hygiene, nutritious diets, and safe foods.
The Deputy Commissioner was speaking while presiding over a meeting held today at Bachat Bhawan Chamba regarding the successful organization of the district level Red Cross Fair.
He informed that during the fair, various government departments, banks, power projects, educational institutions, self-help groups, and private organizations will set up exhibitions and stalls showcasing various activities and products. Additionally, students from various government and private schools will also participate by setting up stalls. These stalls will feature food items, as well as various sports and recreational activities.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Deputy Director of Higher Education to ensure maximum student participation in the fair. He said that local cuisine and nutritious foods should be especially encouraged at the fair, so that people can be made aware of local and healthy foods.
He also directed the fair to promote the use of leaves instead of plastic plates and to maintain cleanliness at the venue. He directed the concerned officials to ensure the participation of children from all childcare centers in the district in the fair.
The Deputy Commissioner said that through various activities at the fair, effective efforts should be made to make children and the general public aware of the Red Cross’s humanitarian concerns, health, sanitation, nutritious food, and social service. He said that the Red Cross Fair is an important medium for promoting public service, social participation, and human values.
He directed all the concerned departments to work with mutual coordination and effective participation and complete all the preparations for the fair in a timely manner, so that successful and systematic organization of the fair can be ensured.
A blood donation camp will also be organised in the fair.
