Shimla, April 30:
The Himachal Pradesh government has promoted Dr Harish Kumar to the post of Director of Higher Education, according to an official notification issued by the Department of Personnel on Wednesday.
Dr Kumar, who was serving as Additional Director in the Higher Education Department, has been elevated to the new post following the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee. He will assume charge in Level-31 of the pay matrix, with a salary range of ₹1,48,800 to ₹2,18,600.
The notification states that the promotion will take effect from May 1, 2026, on a regular basis.
Further, the officer has been directed to exercise the option for fixation of pay under the provisions of FR-22 within one month from the date of issuance of the notification.
The order was issued by Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta and communicated to all concerned departments and officials for compliance.
