Selection Jury to Assess Distinguished Achievements and Teaching Service of College Principals and Faculty
Shimla, September 1: Dr Ruchi Ramesh Sharma, Principal of Government Degree College, Darlaghat, Solan, is among the principals and faculty members who have been called to appear before the Selection Jury for the Himachal Pradesh State Awards (College) for 2026.
According to a information issued by the Directorate of Higher Education, Himachal Pradesh, the shortlisted candidates have been asked to appear before the Selection Jury for a brief presentation highlighting their distinguished and exceptional achievements, noteworthy teaching service and success stories, if any. The presentation will be followed by an interview.
Dr Ruchi Ramesh Sharma has been scheduled to appear before the jury on September 2, 2026, at 2 pm at the CS Committee Room, Ellerslie Building, H.P. Secretariat, Shimla.
She is among 13 principals and teaching faculty members called for the selection process on September 2. The list includes Dr Surender Kumar Soni, Principal, Government College Nagrota Bagwan, Kangra; Dr Manesha Kohli, retired Principal, Government College Solan; Dr Pankaj Basotia, Principal, G.B. Pant Memorial Government College, Rampur Bushahr; Dr Harhans Lal Sharma, Principal, Government College Jukhala, Bilaspur; Dr Samjeet Singh Thakur, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Memorial Government College, Hamirpur; and other faculty members from government colleges in Shimla, Hamirpur, Kangra and other districts.
A second group of eight principals and faculty members has been called before the Selection Jury on September 3, 2026, at 2 pm at the same venue.
The second list includes Dr Jagdish Chauhan, Principal, SGGSJ Government College, Paonta Sahib; Dr Prashant Raman Ravi, Assistant Professor of Hindi, Government Degree College Chamba; Dr Milla Ram, Assistant Professor of Commerce, Government Degree College Shri Renuka Ji at Dadahu; Sh. Sandeep Kumar, Assistant Professor of History, Government PG College Nahan; Dr Vinita Pal, Assistant Professor of English, Gorakhnath Government Sanskrit College, Nahan; Dr Santosh Kumar, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Government College Kullu; Dr Hem Raj Bhardwaj, Assistant Professor of Hindi, Government College Kullu; and Dr Rakesh Kumar, Associate Professor of Botany, Government College Nurpur.
The Directorate has directed all shortlisted candidates to make a brief presentation before the Selection Jury, focusing on their professional achievements, exceptional contributions, teaching service and notable success stories. The assessment process will be followed by interviews.
The State Awards (College) 2026 are intended to recognise distinguished contributions and noteworthy teaching service in the state’s higher education institutions. The final selection will be made through the prescribed evaluation process by the Selection Jury.
