Under the “Public Distribution System,” fair price shops are to be opened at 14 locations in the Shimla district, for which applications have been invited. This information was provided by District Controller of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs, Narendra Kumar Dhiman.
He informed that in the village Rawatn of Gram Panchayat Jhiknipul of development block Chaupal, in village Umri ward no. 3 of Gram Panchayat Shingla of development block Rampur, in place of Badhi of Gram Panchayat Badhi of development block Kotkhai, in village Karai ward no. 3 of Gram Panchayat Changu Chaupal of development block Chaupal, in ward no. 16 Jakhu of Shimla city, in ward no. 34 Kanlog of Shimla city, in village Sangti of Gram Panchayat Neri of Shimla rural, in place of Giltari of Gram Panchayat Giltari of development block Jubbal, in place of Jhagtan of Gram Panchayat Jhagtan of development block Jubbal, in ward no. 2 Devidhar of Gram Panchayat Saribasa of development block Chhauhara, in ward no. 7 of Gram Panchayat Kawar of development block Chhauhara, in place of Darkali of village Panthayat Darkali of development block Rampur, in place of Dharampur of Gram Panchayat Dharampur of development block Theog and in development block Applications have been invited for allotment of fair price shop in Jheena Ward No. 3 of Jheena Gram Panchayat of Chaupal, the last date for submission of which through online medium has been fixed as December 05, 2025.
Interested individuals/organizations may apply online to open a new fair price shop at the above location by uploading the required information and other documents to the website emerginghimachal.hp.gov.in . Applications through any other medium will not be accepted. The minimum qualification required to apply is matriculation, and the individual applicant must be between 18 and 45 years of age. Along with the application form, it is mandatory to upload a matriculation certificate and other higher education certificates (if any), financial status, ex-servicemen status, disability status, certificates regarding self or family members not being in regular employment in case of educated unemployment, shop availability and storage capacity, widow or single woman certificate, certificate if the applicant belongs to a BPL/SC/OBC/ST family, and if the applicant is from the same area where the fair price shop is proposed to be opened, a copy of the Panchayat certificate attested by an authorized officer, and an affidavit stating that the applicant or any family member has not been elected to any post as an MLA, MP, or in any local body, so that merit can be prepared for fair price shop allocation. Applications without the required documents will be rejected/cancelled.
