Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Vice Chancellor, HPNLU, Shimla, observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) on October 31, 2026, with the participation of the University’s teaching and non-teaching staff and students. On the occasion, both the Vigilance Awareness Pledge and the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge were administered to the University community by Dr. Mrityunjay Kumar, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), HPNLU, Shimla.
The observance of Vigilance Awareness Week, 2026, centred on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility”. The initiative sought to promote integrity, transparency, accountability and ethical conduct in institutional and public life. The pledge reaffirmed the collective responsibility of individuals to uphold ethical values, remain vigilant against corruption and contribute towards building a transparent and accountable system. The observance also highlighted the importance of active participation by all stakeholders in strengthening institutional integrity.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed every year on October 31 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and to reaffirm the commitment to preserving and strengthening the unity, integrity and security of the nation. The pledge administered on the occasion called upon participants to dedicate themselves to national unity and integrity, spread the message of national integration and contribute towards ensuring the internal security of the country.
The administration of both pledges provided an opportunity for the University community to reaffirm its commitment to integrity, ethical responsibility, national unity and collective participation in nation-building. The observance reflected HPNLU’s commitment to fostering responsible citizenship and constitutional values among its faculty, staff and students.
