Baddi, October 8: Students of the School of Law at IEC University, Baddi, visited the Presidential Retreat at Mashobra near Shimla as part of an educational excursion aimed at deepening their understanding of India’s historical heritage, architectural legacy and constitutional institutions.
The visit offered students an opportunity to explore one of the country’s significant heritage sites and learn about its historical importance. Nestled amid the scenic surroundings of Mashobra, the Presidential Retreat provided a distinctive learning environment, allowing students to connect their academic knowledge with real-world experiences beyond the classroom.
The excursion was organised with the objective of broadening students’ perspectives through experiential learning and fostering a deeper appreciation of the country’s historical and institutional legacy. Such educational initiatives are considered an important part of legal education, enabling students to develop a wider understanding of the institutions and heritage that have shaped the nation.
IEC University Vice-Chancellor Dr Ashok Puri and Registrar Dr Prahlad appreciated the School of Law’s initiative. They emphasised that educational visits of this nature help expand students’ knowledge, encourage intellectual curiosity and contribute to their overall development. They also highlighted the importance of learning opportunities beyond conventional classroom teaching in nurturing informed, socially aware and well-rounded individuals.
