The semester examinations of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will begin on December 2. The exams will be held till January 9. IGNOU has set up examination centres across the country to conduct these exams. Examination centres have also been set up in jails and Vidhans for jail inmates. In Himachal Pradesh, these semester examinations will be held in 31 IGNOU Study Centres /Examination Centres set up in various districts, with more than 27,000 students appearing for the examinations. Admit cards have been issued to all the eligible students for this examination. Students can download their admit cards from the website.
Dr Joginder Kumar Yadav, Senior Regional Director, IGNOU, said that instructions have been given to the examination centres that in case any student does not have an admit card and his/her name is mentioned in the examinee list / attendance list, the student should be allowed to appear in the examination. He said that the students are advised to carry valid ID cards issued by IGRU/government during the examination. Mobile phones will not be allowed inside the examination hall.
