A surprise inspection of the meat market of Shimla city was conducted under the leadership of Food Safety Officer Dr. Sunil Sharma. Dr. Sunil Sharma instructed the traders to keep the meat in a clean place during the monsoon season. During this, the licenses of the shopkeepers were also inspected.
He said that legal action is taken against those selling food items without a license. Along with this, it is mandatory for every trader to follow the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006.
