Nauni: Students displayed strength, speed and team spirit during the second and third days of the 10th Annual Inter-College Sports and Athletic Meet at Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, on Wednesday. A series of track and field as well as team events saw enthusiastic participation across colleges.
Forestry shines in women’s events
In the women’s 200m race, Manya of Forestry College clinched first place, followed by Aarushi (Forestry College) and Stevia (Horticulture College). Anushka of Forestry College topped the 400m race, with Shreya (Horticulture College) finishing second and Sarika (Thunag College) third. Forestry College also secured first place in the 4x100m relay, while Thunag and Horticulture Colleges came second and third respectively.
In team events, Forestry College defeated Horticulture College 25-18 in basketball. Neri College won the women’s table tennis title against Forestry College, while Forestry College triumphed over Horticulture College in chess. In kabaddi, Horticulture College defeated Thunag College in the final.
Mixed results in men’s competitions
In the men’s 100m race, Chandrashekhar of Forestry College secured first place, followed by Nishant (Horticulture College) and Kartik. Harman of Horticulture College won the 400m race, with Ram Babu (Forestry College) and Tulsi (Thunag College) finishing second and third.
Neri College defeated Horticulture College 55-40 in basketball. Forestry College dominated cricket, winning in both men’s and women’s categories against Horticulture College. However, Horticulture College edged past Neri College in table tennis and defeated Forestry College in chess.
The meet continues to witness competitive performances as students vie for top honours across disciplines.
