On Thursday, APG Shimla University organized a 3-day orientation program in the university campus for students taking admission in UG and PG first year in various courses and faculties like B.Tech, M.Tech, Journalism, BBA, MBA, Law, Hotel Management, Paramedical Sciences and Pharmacy. On the first day, about two hundred new students participated in the admission process in various faculties. During the orientation program, the Academic Dean and Dean of the University, Prof. Dr. Anand Mohan Sharma informed the new students about the entire semester’s schedule and other academic activities. Prof. Dr. Anand Mohan Sharma said that the new academic session has started from August 1 and admission will continue till the last date. The new students were given information about the establishment of the university including mentors, ID card, uniform, time table, calendar. Apart from this, the students were informed about anti-ragging, student welfare, sports curriculum, scholarship and other subjects like hostel, mess, library, women cell, job placement cell, smart class and infrastructure of the university. While motivating the students, Prof. Anand Mohan Sharma said that education with right and best qualities, character building and self-reliance, right educational institute and qualified teacher give right direction to every student’s life.
During this program, Dean Student Welfare of the University, Dr. Neelam Sharma also informed the new students about the facilities helpful in the all-round development of the students and in getting quality education and also assured them that they will not face any problem in getting education and facilities in the university.
On the commencement of the new academic session, a havan puja was also organized in the university temple in which the Chancellor of the University, Engineer Suman Vikrant, Pro Chancellor Dr. Ramesh Chauhan and Registrar Dr. Ankit Thakur were present.
