School heads from PM SHRI schools in Kangra and Chamba undergo five-day training
Shimla: The Samagra Shiksha Himachal Pradesh is focusing on capacity building of school heads and teachers to ensure effective and quality implementation of the PM SHRI scheme across the state.
As part of the initiative, a five-day orientation programme is being organised for school heads of PM SHRI schools from Kangra and Chamba districts. The programme is being attended by Samagra Shiksha State Coordinators Ravinder Singh, Yadvinder Sharma and Priyanka Verma, along with Dr Nisha Katoch, Principal of DIET Kangra, and Namrata Sharma, Principal of DIET Chamba. Deputy Directors of Elementary and Higher Education from both districts are also participating in the programme.
During the orientation, school heads are being briefed on various interventions under Samagra Shiksha, financial norms of the PM SHRI scheme and the process of fund management and transfer through SNA SPARSH. Experts and resource persons are also providing guidance on school development, improving educational quality, promoting innovation and ensuring effective utilisation of available resources.
The programme aims to equip school heads with the necessary knowledge, guidance and practical understanding to implement the objectives and provisions of the PM SHRI scheme effectively at the school level. It also provides a platform for interaction and exchange of experiences among officials, coordinators and school heads to strengthen implementation on the ground.
199 Schools Being Developed as PM SHRI Institutions
As many as 199 schools in Himachal Pradesh are being developed as PM SHRI schools, with a focus on creating safe, inclusive and engaging learning environments for students. The initiative seeks to strengthen quality education, modern infrastructure and 21st-century skills in government schools.
The PM SHRI schools are being equipped with strengthened basic infrastructure, science laboratories, digital libraries, smart classrooms, sports facilities and other modern educational resources. Alongside infrastructure development, training and capacity-building programmes are being conducted for teachers and school heads to ensure effective utilisation of these facilities and implementation of the scheme’s provisions.
Orientation programmes are being organised in different districts in a phased manner. A similar workshop for school heads from three districts was earlier held in Bilaspur. Orientation programmes are scheduled to be held in Kullu and Solan in the next phase.
The initiatives are aimed at strengthening the implementation of PM SHRI objectives at the school level and ensuring that the benefits of the scheme translate into improved learning opportunities and educational outcomes for students across Himachal Pradesh.
