Painting competition organised at Junga School on Wildlife Week

Meenakshi got first, Sakshi second and Mehak got third position.
Shimla, October 5. To commemorate Wildlife Week, a painting competition was held at the Government Model Senior Secondary School, Junga, on Monday. The competition was organized by the Forest Division, Junga. The school’s students participated enthusiastically. Meenakshi won first place, Sakshi second, and Mehak third.
During the competition, students created paintings depicting various types of wildlife, forests, the natural environment, biodiversity, and human-wildlife coexistence. Through their colors and drawings, students attempted to demonstrate how important wildlife and natural resources are to environmental balance.
The program was presided over by the school’s Principal, Mahesh Sharma. Praising the students’ talent, he said that conserving wildlife and nature is not just the responsibility of the Forest Department, but that every individual in society plays an important role. He presented awards to the students who achieved excellence in painting on behalf of the Forest Department.
Forest Division Officer Veena Kashyap, Forest Guards Kushal Sharma and Mansi Sharma, along with school teachers and students were present on the occasion. Forest officials informed the students about the importance of wildlife conservation, biodiversity, forest protection, and environmental balance.
During the program, students were also made aware of the importance of preventing forest fires, harming wildlife, and conserving natural resources. Teachers and forest department staff urged students to spread the message of environmental protection to their families and society.
