Shimla, September 24: Personnel of the Himachal Pradesh First Armed Police Battalion conducted a cleanliness drive in Junga under the message ‘Clean Junga, Beautiful Junga’, with officers and personnel of various ranks actively participating in the campaign.
Battalion Commander Bhupendra Singh Negi said the special drive was organised to raise public awareness about cleanliness and the importance of maintaining a clean environment. During the campaign, police personnel cleaned areas stretching from Junga Bazaar and Civil Hospital to Government Senior Secondary School, Junga, and the First Armed Police Battalion campus. Bushes that had grown during the monsoon were also cleared.
The personnel also interacted with local shopkeepers and residents, encouraging them to keep dustbins at their establishments and dispose of waste only at designated places. They stressed the need to maintain cleanliness in public spaces and keep the surrounding areas clean.
Negi said cleanliness should not remain limited to special campaigns but should become an integral part of daily life. Local residents appreciated the initiative and assured the police personnel of their cooperation in keeping Junga clean and beautiful.
Through the campaign, the police conveyed the message that cleanliness is not the responsibility of any single department or organisation, but a collective responsibility of every citizen towards building a clean and healthy society.
