Himachal Pradesh Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects worth Rs 8 crore for the three panchayats of Majhiwad Gram Panchayat, Chautha Pargana, Shimla Rural Assembly constituency. He then attended a women’s conference held in the Majhiwad Panchayat premises as the chief guest.
6.58 crore approved for Gadkahan-Majhiwad-Sheel-Sharoh link road, more than 1400 villagers will benefit
On this occasion, he said that fulfilling the long-standing demand of the people, Rs 6.58 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of Gadkahan-Majhiwad-Sheel-Sharoh link road, the foundation stone of which has been laid today. He said that with the construction of Gadkahan-Majhiwad-Sheel-Sharoh link road, more than 1400 villagers of six villages will get the benefit of road facility. Similarly, a veterinary hospital has been constructed in Devla under Devla Panchayat by spending Rs 32.72 lakh, while Rs 72.12 lakh has been spent on the construction of Sanahu-Shelti link road, which has been inaugurated today.
He stated that the Sanahu-Shelti link road, a crucial road, has been constructed in response to public demand, and a work plan will be developed for its future paving. He added that construction work is underway under NABARD on a six-kilometer road from Khatnol to Dandidhar, costing ₹7.48 crore. Similarly, work is underway to upgrade the 6.5-kilometer-long Shadi-Sanaula road at a cost of ₹6.5 crore, and to metalize the Sanahu-Gulthani link road, being constructed at a cost of ₹1 crore. He added that budget provisions will be made for the construction of two other roads in the area, including one from Khatnol to Dalana, connecting Gadkahan to Jabal, so that these roads can be completed soon and provide road access to the villagers.
15 lakh sanctioned for widening the playground of Devla School
He said that there is no large playground anywhere in this area, so on the demand of the people of the Devla Panchayat area, an amount of Rs 15 lakh has been approved in the first phase to widen the playground of the Government Secondary School, the foundation stone of which was laid today. He said that with the construction of this playground, not only the school children but also the members of the local youth club can organize various sports activities. He promised to build playgrounds in other panchayats of this area as well, if land becomes available.
The government is emphasizing on women empowerment
Vikramaditya Singh stated that the Fourth Pargana is a crucial part of the Shimla Rural Assembly constituency. He thanked the members of all 29 Mahila Mandals from the three Panchayats for their large turnout at the Women’s Conference, emphasizing the importance of women’s contributions to society and national development. He stated that the state government is emphasizing women’s empowerment, encouraging them to become economically empowered, make career decisions, and develop self-employment plans. He added that women are being provided security in every field, ensuring social and political participation, and self-reliance.
Efforts will be made to extend the road to Shali Mata Temple.
He bowed at the feet of Shali Mata and said that this temple is a center of faith for the people of this region, therefore efforts will be made to extend the road to the Shali Mata Temple. He said that the Shali Mata Temple and the surrounding area will be developed for tourism purposes so that the influx of tourists can provide employment opportunities for the local people.
29 Mahila Mandals were given a sewing machine each and Rs. 5,000 each was announced.
At the event, the Cabinet Minister provided a sewing machine to each of the 29 Mahila Mandals of the three Panchayats of Chautha Pargana and also announced a grant of Rs. 5,000 to each Mahila Mandal. He approved Rs. 2 lakh for the construction of the Majjallu Bridge and announced Rs. 5 lakh each to the three Panchayats for development works. He also announced a grant of Rs. 10 lakh for the opening of a Public Works Department rest house in Khatnol and for completing the incomplete construction of the Majhiwad Panchayat Bhawan.
