Like the Rashtrapati Niwas Retreat, the doors of the Raj Bhavan (Barnes Court) will also open for the common people in the capital Shimla. There will be online booking to come here two days a week on Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. For visiting this heritage building, foreign nationals will have to pay Rs 100, people from outside states will have to pay Rs 50 and state residents will have to pay Rs 20. Admission will be free for students coming through schools and colleges.

The 173-year-old Rashtrapati Niwas (Retreat) located near Mashobra in capital Shimla has been opened for public from April 23, 2023. It was officially announced by President Draupadi Murmu during his stay in Shimla in April.
British Commander-in-Chief lived in Barnes Court building
Built before the year 1832, the historic Barnes Court building, which is now the Raj Bhavan, housed the Commander-in-Chief of the British during their rule. The old plastered walls in this building are made by the technology of the British. The Durbar Hall is worth seeing in the present heritage building Raj Bhavan. There is also a billiards table and piano from the British era. Apart from this, there are also ancient artifacts and rare items. There is a plan to make an art gallery in the Raj Bhavan to showcase these things. The plants and flowers planted in the garden of Raj Bhavan are also the center of attraction.
Shimla Agreement was signed between India and Pakistan here
The Shimla Agreement was signed on July 3, 1972 between Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi and Prime Minister of Pakistan Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in the hall of fame on the ground floor of this building. The chairs and tables of that time are still kept here. The purpose of the Shimla Agreement was to resolve disputes related to Kashmir through mutual dialogue and peaceful means. Both the countries had agreed to take several steps to ensure good relations between the two countries.
