Shimla: Rampur Hydro Power Station (Rampur HPS) organised a “Clean Food Street” programme for local street food vendors operating along NH-05 at Talai and Badrash on September 23 as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2026.
The campaign is being conducted by Rampur HPS from September 17 to October 2, 2026, in accordance with the directions of the Ministry of Power and the corporate office.
Held under the guidance of Project Head, Rampur HPS, Er. Vikas Marwah, the programme focused on promoting cleanliness, hygiene and proper waste management among street food vendors and the public.
During the initiative, vendors were provided with sanitation kits and other essential materials, along with campers for access to clean drinking water. Separate dustbins were also distributed to facilitate the segregation and proper disposal of dry and wet waste.
The initiative aimed to create awareness about food hygiene, personal cleanliness, sanitation of surrounding areas and responsible waste disposal, while promoting a clean and healthy food environment along the highway.
Er. Vikas Marwah appealed to local vendors and residents to segregate dry and wet waste, ensure its proper disposal and keep their surroundings clean and free from plastic. He emphasised that sustained public participation and collective efforts are essential to bring about a visible and lasting change in cleanliness.
