Motorists Advised to Use Alternate Routes

A Continuous rainfall triggered a landslide near the Chakkar Bifurcation area on Sunday, forcing authorities to temporarily close the road to traffic after debris from the adjoining hillside blocked the carriageway.
The Traffic Police, Shimla, has advised commuters to avoid the affected stretch and use alternate routes to reach their destinations. Police personnel have been deployed at the site to regulate traffic and ensure public safety while efforts are underway to manage the situation.
The Public Works Department (PWD) has begun clearance operations and is working to restore the road at the earliest. Authorities have urged the public to remain patient, follow traffic police directions, maintain safe distances between vehicles, and drive at controlled speeds, especially in view of the continuing monsoon conditions.
