The strings of Chitta smuggling that reached Himachal are now connected to Pakistan. A police team headed by SP Sanjeev Gandhi has arrested Gurmeet alias Gurri, a heroin/chitta smuggler coming from Pakistan border, from Hussainwala border of Ferozepur adjoining Pakistan.
The special team of Shimla Police is keeping a close watch on the main networks of Chitta smuggling coming from outside areas in the district, in which one of the accused who smuggled Chitta from the India-Pakistan border in a network has been arrested near Hussainwala border.
Punjab Police has seized two kg of Chitta from two smugglers of Gurmeet gang in Chitta smuggling. Gurmeet alias Gurri’s two associates Bhuta Singh and Gurpreet Singh Gopi are both lodged in Malanwala police station on charges of Chitta smuggling. After Shah gang, Shimla Police has now busted Gurmeet gang.
Shimla Police is searching and chasing away the youth and officers involved in Chitta smuggling. Shimla Police under the leadership of SP Sanjeev Gandhi has busted Radhe Gang, Ranjan Gang, Shahi Mahatma, Shah Gang and now Gurmeet Gang. ASP Shimla Ratna Negi said that Gurmeet is an interstate drug smuggling kingpin, who was running a network of nefarious activities, he has been arrested by Shimla Police from Hussainwala border with Pakistan.
Police investigation has revealed that Gurmeet alias Gurri, accused of chitta smuggling, was supplying chitta in Shimla and surrounding areas for the last several months. Gurmeet alias Gurri used to run a clothes shop in Theog. After the lockdown, he returned to Punjab. Police investigation has revealed that the accused started smuggling chitta in Shimla by selling land in Satik of Faridkot district. Shimla Police is also investigating the CDR details of the accused along with the details of the bank accounts of accused Gurmeet alias Gurri.
SP Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi says that Gurmeet has been arrested from Hussainwala border of Ferozepur. The police is also investigating the money trail of the accused. Investigation of the bank accounts of the accused can lead to many important revelations.
Drug smugglers will not be spared under any circumstances. Shimla Police will apply to cancel the bail of those who are repeating crimes under narcotics offences. These repeat offenders have become big super spreaders when they come out on bail.
