A case of brutality against a six-year-old innocent girl has come to light in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. A 45-year-old man has been accused of attempting to rape her. The accused, an ice cream vendor, lured the girl with the promise of ice cream and committed the heinous act. Police acted swiftly and arrested him. A case has been registered against him under sections of the POCSO Act and rape.
This shocking incident occurred in the Jhakri police station area of the Rampur subdivision of Shimla district.
The accused is an ice cream vendor. He originally hails from Rajasthan and runs an ice cream stall in the Jhakri area.
According to a police complaint filed by the victim’s mother, the accused, Roshan Lal (45), lured her daughter to his stall on the pretext of offering her ice cream and then committed the heinous act. The incident occurred on October 3rd. The girl’s mother caught the accused red-handed in the act and subsequently informed the police. The victim’s family also owns a shop in the area, and the innocent girl was with her family at the shop before the incident. According to the complainant, some customers were present when the accused took the girl from his shop. The victim’s mother stated in the complaint that after delivering the goods to customers, when she headed to the ice cream stall to pick up her daughter, she saw the ice cream vendor attempting to rape her daughter.
DSP Rampur Naresh Sharma stated on Saturday that based on the complaint, a case has been registered at Jhakri police station under sections 64, 62 of the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act. The accused has been arrested and will be produced in court for remand.
