Shoolini University organised a mega plantation drive in collaboration with the Sanhol Gram Panchayat, with more than 300 students and faculty members participating in the initiative. The drive aimed to help create a greener, healthier environment, with more than 600 plants of different varieties planted at Sanhol.
The University’s landscaping team led by Mr Suresh Sharma, played an important role in the initiative by carefully selecting plants suited to the local environment and assisting in identifying appropriate plantation sites. Students actively participated in planting the saplings, demonstrating a strong sense of environmental responsibility and community engagement.
Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Sanhol, Sharda Devi, expressed her gratitude to Shoolini University for extending its support to the village and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and faculty members.
Speaking about the initiative, Director Sustainability, Shoolini University, Mrs. Poonam Nanda, said, “This was the first plantation drive of the semester, and the unparalleled enthusiasm shown by our students has been truly encouraging. Their active participation reflects a growing sense of responsibility towards the environment and the communities around us.”
The drive also provided students with an opportunity to move beyond classroom learning and actively participate in an initiative focused on environmental conservation and community development.
