Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi said that the state government is working with determination at various levels to save the young generation from drug addiction. Sanjay Awasthi was presiding over the closing ceremony of the Barog Premium League (BPL) Edition-5 Cricket Competition in Hanuman Barog Gram Panchayat of the Arki Assembly constituency today.
This sports competition was organized for a month. 18 teams participated in it.
Sanjay Awasthi said that while the state government is implementing legal action against drug addiction, youth are being made aware of this evil from school level to college level. He said that in this direction the state government needs the support of all the youth, parents, and teachers so that everyone can unite and help in ending drug addiction.
He said that sports are the best in saving youth from drug addiction. He said that it is necessary to organize sports competitions from time to time to motivate the youth towards their physical development.
The MLA said that a good player is also a good citizen. He said that Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is constantly striving for the overall development of the youth of the state. With the aim of motivating the youth for sports, the government has increased the diet money of the players from Rs 75 to Rs 250. He said that the government has also made a historic increase in the honorarium of the players who have won medals at the international level. He said that the government is trying to develop the physical and mental development of the youth and give maximum importance to sports to prevent drug addiction.
He said that efforts are being made as much as possible to make better health facilities available to all the people in the Arki Assembly constituency. He said that about Rs 50 lakh has been sanctioned for an ultrasound machine for a better investigation facility in Civil Hospital Arki, and soon it will be installed in the hospital.
On this occasion, Sanjay Awasthi honored the winning team, Mahadev Eleven Sarayanj, in sports competitions by giving them 11 thousand rupees and a trophy and the runner-up team, Baniya Devi, by giving them 7100 rupees and a trophy.
He announced to give 01 lakh rupees for the construction of the Hanuman Badog to Manlog Badog connecting road, 01 lakh rupees for the construction work of the sports ground Badog, one cricket kit to the Nehru Yuva Club Manlog Badog, 15 thousand rupees for equipment to Yuvak Mandal Badog, and 21 thousand rupees to the Organizing Committee Badog. He also announced giving 1.5 lakh rupees for Mahila Mandal Ranoh Khalsa building construction work.
He said that the construction work of irrigation kulh will be done soon in Gram Panchayat Hanuman Badog at a cost of 35 lakh rupees.
