Veteran Actor was found unconscious at his Goa residence

A Veteran Bollywood and Marathi film actor Nana Patekar died at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa.
Patekar was reportedly found unconscious at his Goa home and was subsequently taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Initial information suggests that the actor suffered a cardiac arrest. His death has sent shockwaves across the Indian film industry.
Born Vishwanath Patekar, Nana Patekar began his acting career in the late 1970s and went on to establish himself as one of Indian cinema’s most distinctive performers. He earned widespread acclaim for his intense and often emotionally charged portrayals.
His notable films include Parinda, Krantiveer, Prahaar: The Final Attack, Tirangaa, Agni Sakshi, Khamoshi: The Musical, Apaharan, Rajneeti and the popular comedy Welcome. He also directed Prahaar: The Final Attack.
Patekar was a recipient of the National Film Award and several major acting honours. He was also conferred the Padma Shri in 2013 for his contribution to Indian cinema and the arts.
The actor’s passing marks the end of a remarkable career spanning Hindi and Marathi cinema, with tributes expected from across the film fraternity.
