Shimla: In a statement issued from Shimla, Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said that mining mafias have become so unbridled in the Sukhu government that even the administration and ministers are looking helpless in front of them. Due to the failure of the government, people suffering from illegal mining have knocked on the doors of the High Court. It is clear from this orgy of mining mafias that the government is not able to control the mining mafias or the government is openly protecting them. After all, whose protection is this that even the Deputy Chief Minister of the state is seen pleading before the administration? The things that the leaders sitting in the government should say in strong words in departmental meetings are being said from the platforms of public meetings. Is there such a lack of coordination that the things that should be ordered to the officers as ministers are being conveyed to them through public meetings? Or is it the ministers’ own helplessness to tell their case to the officials in this manner, to appeal to them to stop mining and to threaten them to stop mining, that they are not being heard?
Jairam Thakur said that people had to file a PIL regarding the mining happening in the Deputy Chief Minister’s own district. The Court has taken cognizance of it and issued a notice to the government. When the administration will not listen to the mining mafia, the common man is left with no other option but to go to court. But this is the government’s failure, a symbol of people losing faith in the government. When the administration is silent on any illegal activity, it is clear that it is getting protection from the government. In such a situation, the question arises: under whose protection are such mining mafias that even the Deputy Chief Minister of the state is helpless in front of them, and the people of the state have to take refuge in the court? The most ridiculous thing is that the leaders who made their politics shine in the name of false allegations of illegal mining in the last five years are looking helpless in front of the mining mafias. It is shameful for the government to kneel before the mining mafia in this manner. And people taking recourse to law in such cases shows that the government has become a puppet in the hands of the mafia. This is shameful.
The government that changes the system is not even able to run the PSA plant of oxygen.
Jairam Thakur said that our government built 47 oxygen plants in the state during the time of Covid so that the supply of oxygen to the hospitals remains uninterrupted. Now the government that changes the system has come, which is not able to provide technical assistants in old and running oxygen plants, let alone setting up new oxygen plants. Today, it came to light through the news that the services of 29 employees running the PSA plant have been terminated. On one hand, the entire country is in alert mode to deal with the potential dangers of Human Metapneumo Virus (HMPV), on the other hand, the loud government of Himachal Pradesh, which changes the system, has fired the employees running the oxygen PSA plant. These are the same people who came to power in the name of giving jobs to 1 lakh youth every year, and today they are making headlines for sacking people every day.
A press note will be issued separately regarding the celebration of Lohri at Jairam Thakur’s residence.
