A huge quantity of narcotic substance heroin has been recovered from the house of a woman in Bhadoria under the anti-drug campaign launched by Police District Nurpur. The seized heroin is said to be worth crores of rupees. In this context, SP Noorpur Ashok Ratan said that the police had received secret information that a woman in Bhadoria was involved in drug trafficking and if raided at this time, she could be caught with drugs.
Police recovered 51 grams of heroin from her possession. Its market value is estimated to be over Rs 3 crore. The woman has been identified as Alka’s husband Raj Kumar, a resident of the village and the post office Bhadoroya tehsil Indora. The police have registered cases against the accused under NDPS Act and investigation is on.
The woman’s husband Raj Kumar, son of Daulat Ram alias Setha, is also a notorious criminal of drug trafficking, who has 5 cases of drug smuggling registered in Himachal-Punjab and is currently lodged in the lock-up, the SP said. There are cases of drug trafficking registered against him at Police Station Sujanpur (Pathankot) Police Station Division No. 2 Pathankot in the year 2019. He was arrested on 4th October, 2019 with 20.50 gm heroin, on 30th September, 2020 with 6.12 gm heroin and 1500 narcotic capsules and on 9th October, 2024 with 24.2 gm heroin. He is in judicial custody in the case. SP Ashok Ratan said that this campaign against drugs will continue unabated.
