Solan: LR Institute of Pharmacy, Ochghat, marked World Hepatitis Day with an awareness programme aimed at educating students about hepatitis prevention, early detection and timely treatment.
Assistant Professor of Pharmacology Mukesh Sharma delivered an expert lecture titled “Hepatitis: Let’s Break It Down”, explaining the different types of hepatitis, modes of transmission, risk factors, symptoms, vaccination, screening and the importance of early medical intervention. He also highlighted the crucial role pharmacists play in spreading health awareness and preventing the disease.
The programme was organised under the guidance of Managing Director Shachi Singh, Dean Academics Dr P. P. Sharma, and Principal Dr Avneet Gupta. Faculty members, department heads and students participated actively in the interactive session, which concluded with a discussion and a vote of thanks.
The institute said the initiative reflects its commitment to promoting public health education and encouraging students to actively participate in community awareness campaigns.
