22 people were interrogated at the Vigilance Headquarters in Shimla in the ongoing investigation into the embezzlement worth crores of rupees in the supply of water through tankers in Theog of Shimla district.
22 people were interrogated at the Vigilance Headquarters in Shimla in the ongoing investigation into the embezzlement worth crores of rupees in the supply of water through tankers in Theog in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. Vigilance officials also recorded the statements of junior engineers of Jal Shakti Department. Vigilance has also interrogated the contractors in this mess. In this case, Vigilance is interrogating officials, contractors and local people on the basis of seized records. Vigilance on Monday interrogated 22 people related to the irregularities in the supply of water through tankers under Theog assembly constituency. These included the field employees of the Jal Shakti Department who came under the ambit of investigation.
Along with the interrogation, Vigilance is also analyzing the seized records related to the case. According to Vigilance sources, the statements given by some officers and contractors during interrogation are not matching with each other. In such a situation, the investigation team is seriously investigating every aspect. Before preparing the investigation report, Vigilance is preparing to reveal the entire story of the irregularities step by step. Every aspect of water supply from tankers, from allotment of tenders to the process of lifting water from water sources, distribution of water from tankers, preparation of records, verification of bills and release of payments, is being investigated. However, due to the ongoing investigation, officials are not ready to say anything officially.
Investigation report may be ready by Friday
Vigilance sources say that the investigation of the case is progressing rapidly. The investigation report may be ready by Friday. Vigilance will submit its report to the government. On the basis of the investigation report, the government will give instructions to register an FIR in this case.
