Over 300 young judokas from across Himachal Pradesh expected to participate

The 36th Sub-Junior State-Level Judo Championship will be organised at the Indoor Sports Stadium in Shimla, with more than 300 young players from different districts of Himachal Pradesh expected to take part in the competition.
The state-level championship will provide a platform for promising young judokas to showcase their skills across various weight categories. Organisers said the event aims to promote judo among youngsters while encouraging discipline, sportsmanship, self-confidence and physical fitness.
Himachal Pradesh government Principal Secretary Abhishek Jain will be the chief guest at the championship. Dr Rajiv Kumar, MD, HPTDC, will attend as the special guest and encourage the participating players.
The competition is being organised under the guidance and leadership of Ramesh Chauhan, who has been associated with the promotion and development of judo in Himachal Pradesh.
The successful conduct of the championship will also involve the contribution of Surender Thakur, general secretary; D.S. Chandel, chief executive officer; Pankaj Sharma, treasurer; Naresh Thakur, vice-president, along with other office-bearers.
Sanjay Thakur (coach) will also play an important role in the successful organisation of the championship.
The event is expected to provide young athletes with valuable competitive exposure and help identify emerging judo talent from across the state.
