The team of Special Investigation Unit Solan, taking a major action against drug smuggling, on Saturday, on the basis of secret information, stopped a vegetable-laden pickup coming from Dharampur near Anji. On searching, the police recovered 4.47 grams of chitta (heroin) from the vehicle.
The police have arrested two accused in the pickup, who have been identified as Vijay (33) son of Shri Maan Das resident of village and post office Deem, Tehsil Jubbal, District Shimla and Chandra Kishore (25) son of Ashok Mukhiya resident of village Khada Patthar, post office Deem, Tehsil Jubbal, District Shimla.
The police have registered a case, and the vehicle has been seized. Also, the criminal record of the accused is also being investigated. Police said that the investigation of the case is going on and other aspects related to drug smuggling are also being investigated.
