The Lawrence School, Sanawar — Asia’s oldest co-educational residential school with a proud 178-year legacy — successfully hosted the 6th Edition of the “Tour de Sanawar”, along with the launch of the Sanawar Global Cycling League (SGCL). The event, organized jointly by The Lawrence School, Sanawar, the Old Sanawarian Society, and HASTPA (Himalayan Adventure Sports and Tourism Promotion Association), drew participation from across India, celebrating the spirit of adventure, endurance, and sustainability.
This year’s Tour de Sanawar witnessed a record participation of 211 riders, including professional cyclists, school teams, and cycling enthusiasts from all over the country. Among the prominent schools represented were:
The Lawrence School, Lovedale (Ooty), The Daly College, Indore, YPS Mohali, ATS Valley School, Derabassi, Stokes Memorial School, Trinity International School, and Auckland House School, Shimla.
Cycling groups from multiple regions also joined, making it one of India’s largest school-based cycling events. The youngest rider, Master Fateh Singh (5 years), and the oldest participant, Mr. Maheshwar Singh (66 years), beautifully reflected the inclusive spirit of the event.

Launch of the Sanawar Global Cycling League (SGCL): A pioneering initiative that aims to connect 100 Indian schools over the next two years, promoting cycling at the grassroots level among Gen Z and Gen Alpha.
Increased Participation: Over 200 riders from more than 10 schools across India competed in six categories, covering professional, amateur, and school-level races.
Prizes Worth ₹5 Lakhs: Sponsored by partners and supporters who share the vision of promoting cycling and environmental awareness.
