Kasauli School Celebrates Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour

Sanwara (Kasauli): Kasauli International Public School, Sanwara, celebrated the 79th Independence Day on August 15, 2026, with great enthusiasm, patriotic fervour and a series of cultural performances showcasing India’s rich heritage.

The celebrations began with the unfurling of the national flag, followed by an impressive guard of honour and a disciplined parade by the students. The cultural programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a Ganesh Vandana, creating an atmosphere of devotion and positivity.

Students presented a vibrant array of cultural performances. A Himachali Nati showcased the region’s rich folk tradition, while a patriotic group song and a Hindi patriotic play instilled a strong sense of national pride among the audience. The energetic Bhangra performance was one of the major highlights of the event and received enthusiastic applause.

School Managing Director Heera Thakur, members of the school management committee CK Sharma, Virendra Sehgal and Dr Rajendra Kumar Singla were among the dignitaries present. Abhishek, Assistant Director, Student Affairs, Chandigarh University, and Dr Man Singh also attended the programme as special guests.

The school’s Chief Executive Officer appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers in organising the celebrations. Addressing the gathering, he said the programme was a reflection of the spirit of freedom and India’s rich cultural heritage.

He added that such events not only strengthen the spirit of patriotism among students but also help develop leadership qualities and self-confidence.
