A case of an attack on a youth with a sharp weapon has come to light in the capital, Shimla. On Tuesday, a barber attacked Akshay, a youth of the Kaithu area, with a sharp weapon. Akshay was seriously injured in the attack. After which he was admitted to IGMC Hospital Shimla, where his condition remains critical.
SP Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi said that this incident came to light when Akshay came to Tara Hall from his home in Kaithu to meet his friends. During this, Akshay had an altercation with a barber over something. The matter escalated so much that the barber attacked Akshay with a sharp weapon. The mother of the victim told the police that some time after the incident, the family was informed that their son had been attacked and his condition was critical. In such a situation, they rushed to the spot. Where they saw that Akshay’s neck was badly bleeding. With the help of local people, the family took the injured youth to IGMC Shimla by ambulance at 5:37 pm on Tuesday.
The victim’s mother, Bimla Chauhan, said while crying, “On reaching the hospital, the doctor suddenly asked for an operation. We run the house by doing daily wage labor and do not have money for treatment. We do not even have any health cards, which can provide free treatment. In such a situation, somehow we collected money and got our son operated on.”
The victim’s parents run a vegetable cart in Shimla. In such a situation, they raised money for the operation by asking for a loan. After which Akshay’s operation was done late at night. The victim’s mother said that her son Akshay had come to Shimla from his village Ani after 8 months. The youth’s mother has demanded the strictest punishment against the accused. Based on the statement of the complainant, the police have registered a case. A case has been registered at Police Station West Shimla. ASI Rakesh Kumar is investigating the matter.
